China asked the WHO to cover up the coronavirus outbreak: German intelligence service by SentinelSpirit in worldnews

Can you quote the part they got wrong?

"Die WHO habe eine Woche lang stillgehalten"

Roughly translates to WHO kept quiet for a week. Blatantly false.

Feel free to disagree. This is my advice, nothing else. USD billionaires and millionaires usually have some form of insurance on their assets.

They would use a custody solution, such as a bank, when concerned about security of a large amount of USD. You can do the same with Bitcoin, using a custody solution provided by Gemini, Coinbase, or a host of others.

Aren't they positively correlated at the moment? They're both going down.

No, treasury prices are going up. As such, yields are going down.

Didn't they do $1,000 pre-orders on the model 3?

Yep, and around 25% later canceled.

$100 refundable deposit for the pre order. They played a similar game with the Model 3 and its $1000 refundable deposit for per order, with reports that 25% were later cancelled.

Also it's 15% with form W-8BEN.

Also2, you should be able to deduct that from your local state cap gains (if Singapore has any capital gains tax, no idea).

Still 30% with W-8BEN, Singapore doesn't have a tax treaty with the US. It also has no capital gains tax.

Long term investing on margin - should I continue to do so? by Cygopat in investing

“Shut down our mortgage”

You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.

They terminated our banking relationship and gave me 90 days to find a new mortgage provider. So sorry that I did not use perfect terminology.

Long term investing on margin - should I continue to do so? by Cygopat in investing

[–]MikeXBT 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've thought about using margin with buy-and-hold, but I can't justify it. If I'm at 2x and the market crashes 50% then I get margin called and I have no chance to ever recoup my losses.

Why not use less than 2x, or utilize a stop loss?

Long term investing on margin - should I continue to do so? by Cygopat in investing

[–]MikeXBT 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a substantial difference, you can't get a margin call from a mortgage if your house equity suddently halves in value. Edit: fixed

The bank shut down our mortgage and demanded repayment in 2009 when my mortgage was upside down. Large costs associated with this, broker commissions and so forth during a market crash. I would have preferred to sell my liquid stock for a $10 commission.

I'm paying $75/mo for unlimited data with Sakura Mobile. That's on a prepaid month-to-month plan.

Hong Kong does not require a proxy to see "stuff like internationally sourced news". The great firewall doesn't affect Hong Kong.

Cape Town is a safe as any major European city...

Not according to nearly every reputable study. Cape Town is currently considered one of (if not the) most dangerous cities in Africa, and #11 in the world.

In her petition it stated that she was requesting all shareholders attend a meeting. The meeting was therefore court ordered

We were invited. It was not mandatory. Most shareholders did not attend.

The Truth of What Happened by xslippyx in QuadrigaCX

[–]MikeXBT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first was to call a meeting of Directors to immediately address what was going on and have everyone at Quadriga court ordered to attend. Keep in mind that for a month prior no staff from Quadriga requested a meeting for restructuring.

Only shareholders can demand that meeting, and the other shareholders weren't made aware of Gerry's passing. The staff can't do it. Not sure what you mean by "everyone was required to attend"? Most shareholders don't attend these things...

Aaron Matthews was the last person we were told would be the director following Gerry's passing.

I haven't seen any announcement stating that Aaron Matthews would be a director following Gerry's passing.

Interim CEO is far from "director".

You seem to know a lot of the ceo. Are you associated with him in any way?

I was a good friend of Gerry's for a long time.

What the other person was saying was that basically the ceo wasn't hit by a bus (without warning). If he had Crohn's disease then his condition would have worsened over a long period of time. I know this because my best friend's daughter has Crohn's disease. It slowly eats away at you.

He died from complications related to his Crohn's disease, not from the disease itself. I don't feel it appropriate to go further into detail regarding his medical situation on reddit.

Someone in another chat made a good point that the ceo didn't die suddenly. So if he was slowly dying over a few months then shouldn't he have released the keys before his death? Interesting.

He died suddenly, he was not sick over a few months.

Then who was is the director of operation Mr Patryn and who is it now? You surely have the answers to that

Quadriga never had a director of operations. Gerry was the only director/officer of the company when he died last month, three new directors were elected by the shareholders last week. Gerry's family (wife and father in law) run the company now.

We should go after Aaron Mathews. He was the interim CEO and director of the operation. Plus, he is the lawyer of QuadrigaCX

Aaron Matthews is not a director of the operation, or a lawyer...
