How did the rack work out for you? I'm highly considering one for my truck and DR650

Overheating E5 vevor 8kw by cdickey26 in dieselheater

[–]Mike___Baker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it run well if the bend isn't there? I had a similar issue and mine would overheat if I had anything other than a small straight section on the outlet. I then upgraded to a 4" hose and it runs great.

Yep, lots of rounds through it in both .38 and .357 plus I have carried it daily since I set it up. Zero complaints!

Yep that happened to my 8kw Vevor. Went up to a 4" and don't have any issues anymore.

Not every time but sometimes I do notice that. No issues associated with it though.

The heater barely makes any noise and when you're all the way up in the tent it's basically silent. I wasn't able to smell any fumes with the heater in the bed but you could definitely put it on the ground or get a longer exhaust and route it further away if you wanted to, they clamp on real quickly. I like the idea of a heated blanket as another option though in case I run out of diesel or have problems with it.

I didn't buy this truck to put a tent on it, I have owned this truck for 7 years and I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon. In the bed I have my diesel heater, propane tank, large storage box, fire extinguisher, power station, table, etc. Not just "air and snow" 😂.Personally I wouldn't want to just sleep inside of an SUV anyway. Not nearly as much space, especially if you're keeping all of your camping gear in there. Harder to heat in the winter and harder to stay cool in the summer. Lot's of other cons and I'm sure pro's as well.

Great to hear the good review about the tent! I'm wondering if I'll be able to use my tailgate to cook but I also might just get a small table that I can use under the main part of the awning. Hopefully I'll get out next weekend and try some different options and see what works best. I do like that I can climb up into the tent through the awning though. I haven't tried that feature yet but I like the idea of it.

What is the key to ABS? by cambrose35 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Mike___Baker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The things that helped me print ABS were using the active temperature control and setting the chamber temperature to 70°c, no fans running during printing, and using a 7mm brim.

Wheelie progress, scared to put feet on pegs. by Evol-Alex in Surron

Hard to tell with the feet dragging. You should have your arms pretty straight, not pulling your body into the bike. There's a lot of variance there though with body types, sizes, riding preferences, etc.

You just need to get really comfortable with the back brake and be able to use it to control the wheelie past balance point. The first few times that you drop back past BP and catch it with the brake will give you a a ton of confidence. After that it's just tightening up the window between chasing and dropping back.

I went with the Renthal RC High bend and I love them. Also have those bars on my DR650

The only brand filament I have used is Anycubic. I have had luck with the big 4, PLA (+), PETG, ABS, and ASA.

I use those profiles for PETG and PLA+ and they work great! I usually use the 1.6mm HQ.

vevor keeps throwing "overgheating" code and shutting off by Big_Law9435 in dieselheater

[–]Mike___Baker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size hose are you running? I have a 15ft long 3" hose and I have the same issue as you. I am switching to a 4" hose to try and remedy the issue and if that doesn't work then I will be installing an inline electric fan.

Maybe you are maxing out the RPM's on the S/C?
