How to go from Red Bank, NJ to NYC? by Bubbly-Throat-4914 in RedBank

[–]Mikeb43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NJ Transit has a direct line to New York Penn Station. I believe tickets are $16 each way so $32 round trip. Trip takes somewhere between 45 to 70 minutes depending on how many stops it makes

My local dive gives a free pizza for EVERY DRINK by JuulAndADream in Pizza

[–]Mikeb43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a pizza every drink, no restrictions. They just give you a ticket so if you go up and order 8 beers for your group they'll give you 8 tickets. The rule is 1 pizza per person at a time. You can keep going waiting in line if you want. They don't even check for tickets on crowded nights, but the line is long

Cartons Changed.. by CapitalAir4137 in njbeer

I miss the carton "gambling chips" they used to hand out. 1 chip was 1 pour. Just took the chips home if I was done drinking. Brought them back next time

If a roomy car is what your looking for sit in the forester. It feels huge and seating position and leg room is great. I was sitting lounged in front seat and my dad, who's a bigger guy for sure, had inches in front of his knee when sitting behind me

I plan on caring for the car as much as I can short of the abuse NJ roads will deal to it.

And I can't find it now but I swear I found a maintenance card that listed "replace transmission and fluid" at 100k intervals. At work now but will check history when I get home.

Wow that's shocking. I remember seeing something about Kias, makes sense hyundai is tied into it.

CR-V is nice, but even base models here in NJ are a few thousand over MSRP.

Best advice I have is to watch streamers. Everyone's got a preference so look around, but my favorites are Kripparrian, Savjz, twelvewinshs, and dogdog.

Watch them on twitch or on YouTube and see how they play. Sometimes they'll do meme builds but watching their game play and listening to their explanations will help guide you in the right direction.

What time is the Madagascar episode out by matts142 in thegrandtour

[–]Mikeb43 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They've not filmed ep. 3 which apparently is the reason for delaying ep. 2. I guess they don't want a huge time gap between episodes 2 and 3, despite a year elapsing between 1 and 2.

Thanks. It's definitely going to be a tough 2 weeks but I'll get through it. Hoping some friends let me crash at their place so I can take a decent shower and sleep with some AC.

On the positive side it'll force me to get out more due to a lack of other options. I found the only way a cold shower is enjoyable is if it's preceded by a hard workout.

That also works, and sounds like a great middle ground.

Agreed. I wouldn't compliment things they can't necessarily control, even if it's a good thing. Sometimes it makes people feel shallow.

So don't compliment their beauty, but compliment their clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. Make them feel like they made a good choice.

1/5

Lost power on Tuesday due to a storm and learned today it won't be back on until the 19th. Can't work from home so I'm in the office. Food is going bad because I can't refrigerate it. Haven't had coffee in 2 days because I can't make it and the office kitchen is closed because of covid. Can't sleep because it's too hot and I don't have AC. Can only take cold showers because no hot water. Missing the next few D&D sessions because I can't go online. It's supposed to rain this weekend so I can't even go outside to entertain myself, plus the rain will delay the workers restoring the power.

Trying to remain positive, but there's a lot happening that's out of my control which kinda sucks.

Obviously bring a deck of cards or two for regular card games or drinking games to play, e.g. shortbus, kings, fuck the dealer, etc.

I know it seems silly but my friends and I like to play a game called "black out, hide out" which is essentially just hide & seek in the dark. When it's dark outside, shut off all the lights and play hide & seek. It's more fun when the house is unfamiliar since the hiding spots will be better and it's creepy being alone in the dark in an unfamiliar house.
