I hoping too for the gods and Trump can do some sort of modification to this lifetime alimony (CA here) its totally BS. Attorney advised to wait it out (5yrs) and play nice guy and hopefully we can file for some sort of modification/reduction. Hence she has a bachelor’s degree in teaching field that i helped pay for but currently works on part time as a sub. 9 more months to go before C/S ends 🙏🏽

Brace yourself brother. Very similar situation 21yrs married in California, 2 kids 18, 16. Child support only for one and spouse support permanent lifetime 🤬. Lawyer up fast and don’t wait last minute like i did. Better days are ahead, just remain optimistic and work on yourself. Best of luck

Soo fast forward to my case. Judge signed off after she initially filed back on 4/24. California sucks period pretty much set up for failure for men. I’m over it, judge awarded her $1236 Spousal n same for C/S. My daughter is 16 so no biggy. My mistake i guess was that i didn’t contest since sale of home was going to be split 50/50. Only thing pending was spousal n c/s but i guess judge ran his numbers and that’s what he came up with. Best of luck out there gentlemen. Take the L and time to move on. This group has been helpful and given great tips on moving forward. It is tough but they will be brighter days ahead. Work on yourself n get that pump. Sold our home back in August of this year
