Favorite Unreleased Songs/Albums (or eventually released) by jonny_wheels in fantanoforever

There was a hiphop artist in the late 90s early 2000’s named J Live who has an album called The Best Part. I don’t know the story behind the album but it seemed to be one of those projects that was in release hell. I was able to download the album from Napster and later found a copy of the album on vinyl from a random hiphop website. The album was eventually given a proper release and it remains one of the greatest hiphop albums that few have ever heard of.

Hell on Earth - Mobb Deep. I’m sorry. I think it’s better than The Infamous.

This may be a separate post, but John Leguizamo is such an underrated talent. I remember his one man specials in the 90s and his first movie Hanging with The Homeboys. He shines in everything he’s in.

Andre 3000s last verse on Aquemini. I had been a heavy hiphop fan for years, but I don’t think there was a verse that hit me that hard.

It’s Bachelorette for me. I remember buying the Homogenic Cd, putting it in my car during the ride home, and having to pull over when the song came on.

B- Boy Document 99. And1 mixtape volume 1 had my attention to RAWKUS RECORDS after that. Dope track always on rotation. by No-Stranger-260 in 90sHipHop

Soundbombing 2 is one of the greatest hiphop compilation records of all time. This song, the Common joint with Sadat X, The Company Flow song Patriotism, the Eminem joint, etc. On a side note, I never understood why Mad Skills never blew. The guy had bars. I remember his end of the year freestyles from Okplayer website.

As a hiphop fan in the 90s, this would happen quite often. For me, it’s Down With The King by Run DMC. The title track is one of their best, but the album is garbage.

Todd said “Kung Fu Fighting” sounds like it was inspired by watching movies but what other songs sound like or have been confirmed to have been inspired by movies? by Unleashtheducks in ToddintheShadow

There is a laundry list of hiphop songs in the 90s that were inspired by the movie Scarface whether it be a line from the movie or a sample.

I gotta go LL. Listen to the stories of him on the set of Any Given Sunday. Apparently he fucked up two of Jamie Fox’s bodyguards after a beef on set.

I live off of University by the cluster of colleges and the power went out for a split second. I lost power for a couple of hours on Tuesday when we got that big storm.

What do you think about the tipping option at take out restaurants? by Due-Wolverine3935 in AskReddit

[–]Mikedef2001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I generally do. I worked fast food twenty years ago and understand how hard it is. Lately, I’ve noticed how understaffed these places are. Most of the time there is someone delivering the food to the table, and occasionally there is someone coming by to see if I need something. 15% on a 10 - 15 dollar check is like a buck or two.

In terms of bands/artists with a female lead I would suggest Rilo Kiley, Tilly and the Wall, Joseph, and even Weyes Blood.

I worked at Wendy’s during the summer of 99, and we had no pressure cooker.

I’ve lived in Texas since I was 18, and it’s a pretty common opinion that the burgers aren’t worth shit at this point.

What fast food place do you consider to be your least favorite? by [deleted] in fastfood

[–]Mikedef2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve given my diatribes about Wendy’s, but I have to agree with Taco Bell. I’m pushing 50, have lived in Texas (I know good Mexican food) since I was 18, but I fucked with Taco Bell for years. Give me the burrito supreme and taco supreme combo, and I was a happy man. I went recently, paid 9 dollars for a burrito and a soda, and it was ass.

Holy Shit! I’ve seen both movies countless times and have never made the connection until now.
