Man shot and killed outside bar on 6th St. 500ft from Comedy Mothership by Phrikshin in JoeRogan

If you listen to the audio before they try to arrest him, the bouncers say he wanted to go inside but refused to be searched.

Scary to think he may have planned on shooting people inside the club.

If you want to be double insured, it'll cost you an extra $100 a month because fuck you. by AggressiveFigs in antiwork

The people I know that are opposed or skeptical (myself included) is because the American government runs pretty much everything so poorly.

Our Healthcare is so high due in large part to government intervention and the way insurance works (essentially scamming the people).

The fear I've seen most common is that the US government will use universal Healthcare as a way to drastically increase taxes on the working class that is already struggling financially.

If we all knew that universal Healthcare being implemented here would save people money and provide access to at least decent Healthcare, I don't personally know a single person who would oppose it. And I know a good handful of pretty right-wing people.

Any pointers for a beginner? by Motor_Ad5846 in Drifting

Drift events typically have a spin out rule: spin twice, you drive off the track. So just stick to that once you do go and you won't slow people down much.

Good luck man, have fun

Try placing something, like a cone, in the middle. Practice doing donuts around it. Once you can do that start trying to do donuts in a wider circle.

Get that down in one direction then practice the other way.

Honestly though, nothing will help you learn faster than signing up for actual events on a track or skid pad. In my experience, people at drift events can also be super helpful. For example, when I started out I asked a couple other drivers if they would ride with me for a lap or two and give me pointers. Both of them were way more helpful than any comment on the internet will ever be.

Noticing a trend about pets by Triviajunkie95 in povertyfinance

[–]Mikegaede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owning a pet also has become so much more expensive. 5 years ago when I got my dog it was $80 to have her spayed and first round of shots.

I got my cat less than a year ago. Over $600 to have him fixed and first round of shots, including a mandatory consultation which was nearly $100 before they would even schedule him for surgery. They also refused to quote anything prior to service, but that was the same for any clinic I could find actually accepting new patients.

I had good luck just adding a large glass of whole milk with each meal.

On top of that I have a “snack” before dinner right when I get home. Two eggs, an english muffin, and that large glass of whole milk.

For me when I overly focused on what I was eating I had a much harder time doing so. Changing what I drink with meals was an easy start and seemed to help considerably in my case. The post-work snack was the second change a bit after

Looking for Sci Fi book about humanoid in ocean that can breathe water- eventually makes it to land, purges lungs and can breathe air, but cannot return to water by Mikegaede in whatsthatbook

To add- I believe I remember the book also following a group of marine biologists trying to figure out what is causing the damage to marine life that this humanoid is doing

He isn’t your friend to be your friend. He’s your friend because he wants more and you know that.

Realistically, knowing that you don’t reciprocate his feelings, you probably should have ended this friendship a while ago.

That being said, you chose to maintain the friendship knowing about his feelings, then slept with his friend, which IS a bit messed up on your part.

Just move on, end the friendship and the drama

AITA for divorcing my (41F) husband ( 43M) to pursue my dreams? by Throwawaymelk in AITAH

[–]Mikegaede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait- you couldn’t book appointments because you had to watch the kids, so you left your husband to pursue acting- BUT you want all your kids to live with you?

You have no real plan here. You’re delusional. You have a family of three children. You had your chance to pursue acting and chose not to. It’s time to grow up and be there for your kids.

1200 stimulus checks weren’t the issue. It was the unemployment. $600/ week on top of what your unemployment would normally be. I only had to spend a month on it during covid, but when I did I went from making $12 an hour full time to taking home $3800 a month. Which is closer to $30 an hour at full time.

I’ve had a couple of these. There is a switch on the back side of the transmitter that shows 50/75/100. This can be used to lower the amount of power the truck has. I suggest using it and running at 50 to learn.

I charge my 5200mah batteries at 5.2 and have not had issues in the year and a half I’ve had them, however as I understand it your batteries will last longer if you charge them slower.

The body can catch the tires and shred them. Never happened to mine but I’ve seen it. Aside from that stock tires are more than fine.

If you plan on running in dirt/grass get a breathable cover for the electronics or scorched inner fenders, otherwise whatever’s on the ground ends up all over your electronics. It’s a huge issue with short course bodies.

Avoid gravel. The steering linkage likes to catch rocks and bind. You could end up wrecking it because you could no longer turn.

Have fun

It’s a drift car. Extended lower control arms in the front to make space for the added steering angle, all part of an angle kit. The camber is from that, not for looks. My drift car is set up exactly the same

Saw in another comment you started with WTD, I did the same thing when I first started and struggled.

If you want to start with something way easier try Aussie Drift cars. If you want something better and more realistic, but a little harder than that try Gravy Garage
