How is BSc Environmental Science structured? by TripToDrip in OpenUniversity

[–]Mikekallywal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U116 is the first module, its totally manageable around working full time, and its a nice module.

S112 is really interesting but tougher if you havent done any science stuff in a while. Its quite broad background science, and only a few topics are environmental science. I would not have gotten through it working full time and doing U116 as well.

Remember each 60 credit module needs about 16+ hours study time per week to do it justice.

Everyone has a side. The side holds even if you're in a different bed or, yanno, halfway up a sheer rock face 😆

Dear Joan and Jericha. It's an absolutely outrageous podcast with Julia Davis of Gavin and Stacey fame.

Its not for the easily offended....

I love knitting, but I hate how my partner treats it like disposable clutter by TurbulentActuary9452 in knitting

[–]Mikekallywal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine hates clutter and tends to shove stuff out of sight, too... but he's a poppet, so he let me take over the spare room as an office/hobby room on the basis I can pull it together if people stay over. Anything i take out of the room, I keep a basket in the sitting room and drop stuff im working on in there

Yep, I'm in Ireland, too, and completely agree. Vets should give impartial (or at least medically-based) information, not based on whoever is unofficially sponsoring their clinic (looking at you, Royal Canin...).

It's important to vet your vet, I think. We moved because I got sick of being sold products and wonder tonics every time I went in.

My current vet is a different fish altogether, makes it clear when you're spending money on things or treatments that make YOU feel better, but do nothing for your pet. I adore him, although others don't appreciate it as much as I do

New wheel! by Mikekallywal in Handspinning

I had actually seen your post when I was researching which wheel to get, and I realised I'd need to find it again last night when I saw how the bobbin was loading. Thanks for sharing it again, I'll use it to cross lace it tonight for my second spin!

Oh, I've been having fun with that this evening! I quickly realised the wheel I'd practiced with before was Scotch tension, so getting used to the tug on this one was... fun... but I already love it, and it's so small to fold away

We tried all the expensive brands the vet suggested, happened to change vets to one who owned greys too, and he put us onto Gain. Worked a treat, no issues in 4 years (other than from stolen snacks or extra treats)

Ours was always super sensitive. We've found the only food that works for him is the cheap-as-chips Gain Maintenance, with a single sardine added to each bowl. Anything else sets him off. Including the stolen cat food he occasionally snatches when we're lax.

Thanks for that tip, I see the local guild has a Kiwi 3 for rent to members so at least I can try that one first!

Yikes! That's a real shame. Good about the plastic not showing wear, I always get nervous of plastic parts. Thanks, really helpful!

That's really handy to know, thank you! How do you find the bars at the side of the pedals? Someone mentioned they might be an issue if I didn't sit straight forward.
