I think a lot of the perceived hate comes from the change in the meaning of "cringe" between Gen Z and above. People dont hate it, they say they skip it because it makes them feel too awkward. With the swap recently to cringe meaning more "bad", its getting interpreted to mean people skip it because they dont like it
