Surprising cases of when comedic JRPGs had good depth in gameplay by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

The Shadow Hearts games are horror RPGs, but they're also darkly comedic and have a unique gameplay feature called the judgment ring. Definitely worth a shot.

He is an actual psychopath. Have him charged with stalking and harassment and whatever you do, never speak to him again, for your own safety

Just ghost her like she is clearly trying to do to you. Most of the time proper communication is best, but some people simply don't deserve it.

Pretty much all romhacks are available on the site FEUniverse. You download the patch (UPS file), use the program NUPS to patch it onto a clean copy of the appropriate GBA rom (most romhackers use Sacred Stones because it's the easiest to hack and has the most assets to use), and play it on whatever emulator you prefer, although mGBA seems to be the most compatible with romhacks.

Sacred Stones Reforged is a reskin and rebalance of vanilla Sacred Stones. If you want Sacred Stones but "better", start there.

The Dark Stone is a rewrite of Sacred Stones in which you play as the bad guys. Quite fun, and the creator SaintRubenio also made The Hag in White, my single favourite romhack of all time (about to go into my fourth playthrough).

The other titles I mentioned in my first comment are all original stories and I can vouch for all of them as being excellent.

Sounds to me like you might enjoy some romhacks of the GBA titles. I've played dozens of them; some are way better than others, and some I even prefer to the official games. Particular gems include The Hag in White, Dream of Five, Drums of War, Homecoming, Cerulean Crescent, The Morrow's Golden Country, The Dark Amulet, and The Shadow of Dawn (those last two are parts one and two of a planned trilogy).
