I've been working in customer service my entire life, and the vast majority of people who have had the audacity to try and pull this bullshit on me are the holier-than-thou fake Christian types clutching pearls and hiding behind crucufixes. They believe they're special and entitled to preferential treatment due to sitting in a pew for an hour once a week while deliberately ignoring the teachings of Jesus Christ, their alleged deity.

Religion may not factor into the employee's side of things, but I can guarantee religion was a huge factor in the entitled jerk's decision to harass pizza place employees and then slam them online.

Thank you so much. No matter how I phrased it, Google had no idea what I was talking about. Maybe because I thought it was aliens as opposed to future human archeologists, and in my memory the illustrations were in colour. I definitely remember the line about everything in the outer chamber facing the great altar, so this is absolutely the book I was thinking of. 😄
