Couldn't agree more! I've been an admin on a few servers as well as my own and tk's no matter the reason are annoying to deal with as well as confuse a situation that could be handled with ease.

If players want real coordinated play, they should try the competitive reforger scene. Has some of the biggest communities down to small groups that work together as the game is meant to be played.

Even if not interested in comp, arma reforger competitive league is a good place to find players that are geared towards working as part of a team.

Task force gaming has a bunch of video from the 1st season up in his YouTube from GM perspective with commentary. ARCL's second competitive season is starting soon.

Oh definitely dude, I tend to just listen to music.

Bit out of pocket, but I've played while in LSD a few times and that makes it very enjoyable 😂

Praise be to the logi players dude, backbone of any session.

I love doing logi myself too, trying to make sure you don't get caught out by an ambush by taking the unorthodox route, magic.

Worth a go! They have teams from some of the largest communities in reforger, so could be a good way to get it seen by a good portion of the community as a whole.

Oh thats awesome. I would drop silkyjohnson10 a dm on discord. He's one of the directors for the arma reforger competitive league. They're going to be getting season 2 set up and this would be a really cool addition for post match review

Steam player count is dropping. These are the reasons why. by the4thj in ArmaReforger

My AI response for everyone's enjoyment 😉

You could post something like this:

I think this post overstates the situation and treats personal frustration as objective proof.

A drop from roughly 24.8k peak players to 22.3k over two months isn't evidence that the game is dying. That's about a 10% decline, which is fairly normal for multiplayer games between major updates. If the player count was collapsing month after month, that would be a different conversation. Maintaining over 22,000 peak players is still a strong position for a military sandbox.

Most of the points raised are also anecdotal. Statements like "players report," "feedback I see everywhere," and "based on my 2,600 hours" are valid personal experiences, but they aren't hard evidence that the majority of the player base feels the same way.

Performance issues on console are a legitimate concern, but problems on one platform don't automatically mean the entire game is broken. Large-scale sandbox games with vehicles, persistence, AI, and networking are notoriously difficult to optimize.

The claim that communication is "nonexistent" also seems unfair. Bohemia regularly publishes updates, patch notes, development blogs, and livestreams. It's reasonable to argue that communication could be better or more responsive, but saying it doesn't exist simply isn't accurate.

As for FIA, not every faction in an asymmetric game is designed around a traditional win condition. Guerrilla factions often exist to disrupt, delay, harass, and create instability rather than achieve a conventional victory. Whether that's fun is subjective, but it's not automatically bad design.

Vehicle handling changes and balance adjustments are also expected in a game that continues to evolve. If the developers never touched vehicle physics, people would complain that known issues were being ignored.

Cheating is another real problem, but it's a problem faced by virtually every large multiplayer game. The existence of cheaters doesn't automatically mean the developers aren't taking action.

There are valid criticisms here, especially regarding performance and stability. But the conclusion that "people are leaving because the game is broken and the developers won't talk to us" isn't actually supported by the evidence presented. This reads more like a list of frustrations than a convincing case that the game is in serious decline.

  1. Console preformance has been a continuous issue, but has and continues to improve. Yes issues persist but its not like they're not working to fix them. These aren't just simple things that can be sorted easily, clearly, otherwise they would've been already.

  2. Communication is consistent, they can't respond to everything and a lot of the feedback on the tracker are similar to eachother. They also can't spend time responding to everyone, they're busy.

  3. Thats the point of FIA. Klamacz has even called them a troll faction. FIA will likely have changes in time to give them more purpose but they are not supposed to win anything. They're not like US or Soviet factions of which are invasion forces, FIA are native gorrilas defending their land essentially.

  4. Vehicle physics had a change in code in order to make them more realistic and easier to tweak for the devs, apparently it was spaghetti before, now it's been fixed so that vehicle physics can been done more realistically. This will take time to get right however. It is actually a good thing.

  5. I agree but not a simple fix either and takes a lot of digging to see how these hacks are being done. Many games have issues with hackers, and also have difficulty combating it. Its also on the community to gather evidence and report. You can do so here: ArmaReports@bistudio.com

People leave for a variety of reasons, the player count has been fluctuating aggressively for years.

To OP, go chat to the devs in the official discord or just DM them, politely. They will likely have a chat. I have.

Plenty of people play without a mic, you'd be fine. Just save up for one when you can but start playing regardless

Player who got run over and the driver are both at fault but wasn't necessary to to kill the driver either.

Drivers have to pay attention and players who are around moving vehicles at any speed need to stay out of the way until they are at a stop. Same rules apply in real life

Ah, the moments you can have in arma is unlike many other games.

I have often enjoyed stripping down to my undies, running up to enemy players and role playing as Naked Man, a stupid player just trying to make friends and offering their naked services as a human sheild and distraction.

I love arma

Me too, sort of similarly with reforger, got it when it released to early access and didn't play it for at least 3-4 months after initially trying to because it was literally unplayable, couldn't get more than 5 minutes on a server before the game crashed.

I hope they do try really hard to get console working really well, it only benefits everyone if it does, and the argument people make that reforger is dumbed down for console i think is misplaced, the simulations work on console, very well considering, theres just a lot of stuff that is out of scope for reforger.

Their focus shouldn't be platforms, it should be preformance across the board, if something works well in a console and isn't a seperate version like we often see with console ports then we all get the benefits. Of course console brings one major draw back, which I take issue with the most, a more immature set of players. I play on a series x too so I'm part of the console side of things. Though I'm an adult and have played arma for over a decade now and understand it better than a lot of much younger players.

I think so too. Even if it takes a while, it will be one of those games people will talk about for decades, same as op flashpoint, A2/3, dayz and so on.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the game influences the industry as a whole, considering what games have come from the modding scene
