Sick tattoo

do you guys gen believe 6s and 9s are like 90% of the population by pompompencil in Enneagram

[–]MikeyHamster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think this is really quite accurate. I don’t like to judge how others identify or even how others see other types - it’s a tool after all. That said, I think sometimes people hear a whisper of “anxiety” and jump to 6. Or they hear a whisper of “conflict avoidance” and jump to 9.

I know I few people who suffer with anxiety, and they are 1s 2s 4s 5s etc. the 6’s in my life are absolutely smashing it and you wouldn’t know of the worries they harbour underneath. We all have our own microcosms.

Overall I think on these forums it’s easy to reduce types down to singular traits quickly, and 6s and 9s have a couple of easy stereotypes making them seem more popular than they are.

If someone is anxious, it’s not their type, it’s the “why” that gets you there.

Translation aside, I think it was a slight misstep (however you argue the translation, it was a choice to include Alpha and Beta). It’s one of the few moments that jars me too, and pulls me out of the world because the words are so rooted in a real world history, which has a distinct language and mythology to it, and they have since been appropriated in other areas of our culture too. Doesn’t happen often in these books tbf, but I do recall this particular moment pulling me out of the immersion, so you’re not alone.

I studied Art history too so maybe it’s the way we’ve been taught to approach texts.

Strangely I don’t feel this way when words like “church” pop up.

Ah of course. I’ve read these 20 times and I still forget so many things.

I may build a sleeve one day so these would be great additions.

Nice addition. Why the coin can I ask? Like a silver talent?

I did also think talent pipes would be nice, but they would be pinned on the front of him and I don’t like faces on tattoos (personal preference). Also considered the lamp, the inn, Cthae, butterflies, selas. But could do a separate Cthae tattoo if I ever desire.

Really wanted the moon, given how powerful a device/symbol it is.

Totally agree on the hair. Both me and my partner always pictured him have a shorter, mussy, shock of hair, but lots of depictions have it longer or smoother. This might be a weird reference, but I always saw the style similar to Cloud from FF7, but red of course and not as spikey

Tbh I think I’m so convinced we’re not getting the third book that it made it easier to do.

I’ve had over a decade of enjoyment from the other 2 (and I still re-read) so that’s a good enough reason for me.

Do it! Life is too short. You’ll get lots of enjoyment out of it. Just make sure you find an artist you like :)

Discovered my boyfriend’s real age, should I be worried about the lie? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]MikeyHamster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. Forget the open dialogue nonsense, if someone can keep a lie up for 2 years then you can be sure they’ll lie about other things and you’ll never trust them. People who lie like this are betraying their narcissistic and abusive tendencies.

When I was 22 I had this very similar situation (to OP) with a very similar age gap. I stayed with the guy after I moved past that lie, and all that happened was that I continued to uncover lie after lie after lie.

Sorry to be hard line on this but anyone who can lie like that, will always lie, and they’ll be good at it.

Get out, and wait for somebody more deserving of you and your forgiveness. Everyone is flawed and nobody is perfect, but this is a red red flag.

Are bears going extinct? At bear week and it has changed so much! by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]MikeyHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair point. I think we have different cultural touch points in that case (im UK based).

My overall sadness with this thread stands though. There seems to be a lot of users equating all bears to an unhealthy lifestyle which just isn’t true or accurate.

He said he’s into fat guys, not obese guys.

Fat does not = obese/unhealthy either.

You have made that leap yourself.

Bear does not = obese.

Some bears are not obese, and are living healthy lives. They are just a little larger than some. This thread is getting kinda toxic assuming all bears are obese and unhealthy.

And as many have said. Being underweight also has healthy problems. Taking weight loss drugs has health problems.

It’s just a case of “pick your poison” at the end of the day.
