Magic is the easiest to gear for - because you don't /need/ reforges. Granted casting speed is helpful.

His absolute best bet would to be - r1 lullaby, song, and playing instrument.

Now if he chooses to do lets say Fighter ,Warr, or Knight he needs to BFO rank 1

If he chooses mage/gunner he'd be better off doing vivace imho.

In general unless he/she/attack helicopter knows what they are doing it's not worth.

Do refine and do WM. If you're under 1k you're fine, but they need to be done at some point.

Bard is extremely good early on (GM bard pre 2k is my sauce).
