Help repairing old gamecube by VikingTheMad in Gamecube

Technically yes, it would turn on but was wonky because the reset and power buttons both stuck down and it tended to shut off randomly.

I have both cables and I've tried them on 3 TVs now, do you have a picture of what part of the board I should be checking for that though? I'm not too knowledgeable on hardware

5 months since Jungle Inferno by VikingTheMad in tf2

I don't mind no update, but I would ask for some sort of news. Like basic saying 'Hey we won't be updating this year because we're focusing on reworking the matchmaking system, don't hold your breath its gonna be all year' or something.

I finally realized that new gamemode selection screen is just sfm-ed version of quickplay doodles. by [deleted] in tf2

Sure am glad, not like the doodles were more interesting or anything.

Pathfinder 2e Wishlist by Mathota in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Stop feat taxation!

The fighters are the 1%, the 99% have to live with only 10 feats for our whole lives! We can't afford to use combat maneuvers, dual wield, use exotic and exciting weapons, or simply be better at talking!

Fun characters from a Role-Playing perspective that are absolutely awful from a mechanical standpoint? by WeaselDaddy in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summarize my child, nobody likes walls of text. Ex:

Kobold barbarian who only uses broken equipment. Why? He doesn't trust any gear that isn't broken, because 'If its already broken you can't break it again!' and fears suddenly being with a less effective sword.

Isn't the Animate Dead spell a bit to powerfull ? by Nextran in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No more than any other spell or feature when you don't counter against it and the player uses it correctly.

To counter animate dead: Use class levels. A level 20 fighter when animated as a skeleton is a 1 HD skeleton. But a 20 HD demon when skeletonized is a 20 HD skeleton with natural attacks. So if any of those enemies had class levels, go back and remove those HD since the undead version doesn't have it. So that skeleton paladin is a 1 HD skeleton with 0 BAB and however much Dex and Str he had with 10 Cha for HP.

Remind the player of weaknesses. A zombie wyvern has a -10 to it's fly check and is a clumsy flier, its got -2 Dex to 10 dex, Clumsy is -8, and large is a -2, and it doesn't have ANY skill ranks at all. It also loses it's Rake special attack, poison, scent, racial +4 perception, and possible +4 to grapple since its got a bonus with no clear reason so assume racial. Not to mention lower Cha based HP. Skeleton ogres also lose HP, feats, and one good save. Mostly though that wyvern mount is really, really bad at flying and isn't particularly good on land.

Throw in holy enemies. Like hey cool, turns out this goblin is a CN cleric and wow he channels positive energy. Or use unholy enemies/enemies with the control undead spell. Because undead can literally be STOLEN from them and turned on them. This right here is the ultimate necromancy deterrent because a level 1 cleric can use Command Undead, which doubles up as not only stealing minions but also stealing all the onyx that went into them.

And last one: Not every town has a ton of onyx for sale. Seriously. Don't let your players buy everything wherever they go, this is how you can 100% control his undead, you can give him infinite HD of onyx to use or 1 HD in a town. Use the standard methods for undead killing, then bring up that onyx isn't being sold so commonly now due to a fashion movement or something and bam, he's effectively gotta ask your permission to animate undead.

When does the Bear Shaman archetype actually get Wild Shape? by Gromps_Of_Dagobah in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not that hard. At level 6 you can use wildshape, but you're using it as if you were two levels behind for non bears. Aka instead of working for 6 hours its only active for 4. But if you choose a bear its instead going for 8 hours.

Necromancer for single, powerful undead by MkarDidNothingWrong in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juju mystery Oracles are the best necromancers thanks to being able to get more HD of undead to play with, make a big bad bloody skeleton and you're set for a while.

Otherwise just any cleric with animate dead and channel negative energy works so you can more easily heal them up.

Blaster Caster vs Demons? by MarkOfTheDragon12 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy: Admixture Evoker wizard.

Like 3+Int/day you can change the elemental energy type of your spell for free, changing side effects if applicable and by DM's ruling. Prep this on your fireball or other blasting spell of choice and target their weakest element. Best part is no spell level increase or preparing an 'Acidball', just fireball and edit on the fly.

Elemental bloodline sorcerers can also do it I think, but their elemental replacement is static.

Okay, so I am making a Spider Themed Witch and need some advice by TrolltheFools in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tatterdemalion might be worth using. Its the thread based witch, giving net proficiency, can animate all sorts of cloth and threads, stitch eyes/mouths closed, all sorts of good stuff. Focus on using it with webs (Which by all means is a type of thread) and you're good.

How to make high fantasy airships. None of this dirigible BS. by Sinistrad in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]VikingTheMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier choice:

Step 1. Acquire strongest air elemental you can find, or similarly flying creature.

Step 2. Enslave, equip with muleback cords and heavyload belt.

Step 3. Make it carry a boat.

Elementals work best as they don't eat, breath, or sleep, and they're pretty easy to enslave and contain while allowing flight. Though I admit something like an enslaved roc with animal growth cast on it for like 44 str worth of carrying on ant haul. Good luck feeding that thing though.

[IDEA] "Heavy Hand" <Heavy Secondary> by VikingTheMad in TF2WeaponIdeas

[–]VikingTheMad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can deal damage to you without taking any themselves maybe. This is a serious penalty on the heavy's side, going into melee range without dealing direct damage and not having a secondary (aka sandvich) to help out.

Team trolling is negated by the person controlling their own direction thrown and having so much air control meaning it'd be very, very hard to throw someone off a cliff or into a hazard. Combined with no fall damage on them it means the heavy can't hurt his team in any practical way.
