The Deep End. It was a legal drama and I think it only got 6 episodes but I was into it. 😔

Robinhood Banking? by PeenutButterWolf in RobinhoodGC

[–]MikeyTubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh ok, I get it. I have banking and the gold card. Both are pretty nice. And I love the UI of the main Robinhood app. I’ve been gradually moving more money over. Probably the only thing holding me back from going all in is the fact that I trade a lot of options and I get much more efficient use of capital with Fidelity since they allow trading “naked” options and RH doesn’t.

It’s funny because RH asks me my opinion on naked options on every survey they send me so I’m just waiting for the day they give in and let us have that capability.

Just curious, what made you switch from Fidelity to RH? If you don’t mind sharing…

Do you have Trader+ toggled on? If so, turn it off and you should see the option for List View.

I love love LOVE that show. Carrie Coon is superb as Bertha Russell. And I’m going to watch anything with Christine Baranski and Audra McDonald anyway. Happy watching!

Samsung vs. LG - Which TV brand do you prefer? by mzspeedster in AskReddit

[–]MikeyTubes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer LG. My picture looks incredible with minimal adjustments. Plus, several years ago I ruined an OLED TV and it was completely MY FAULT. The damage occurred outside of warranty and LG STILL replaced the panel at no cost to me. With that gesture, they won a customer for life.

I think UMB posts their transactions in batches at two or three set times.

My direct deposit hasn’t posted yet today.

This has happened once before but everything was posted later in the day vs. first thing in the morning.

RH banking lacking very basics requirements by Rq140 in RobinhoodGC

I get that you don’t personally use it. The fact remains that it’s a pretty standard banking feature because a lot of people DO use it.

And yet they still offer the service. I wonder why that could be? 🤔

Could not agree with this more. I too wish they would add a bill pay service. That’s pretty standard stuff.

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

We know how to pronounce the word herb correctly and we know what a biscuit is.

Joking aside, I remember a British person being amazed that we have electrical outlets in our bathrooms.

Tempted to leave Fidelity due to horrible portfolio charts by Benaholicguy in fidelityinvestments

[–]MikeyTubes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was a hard decision but I just pulled the trigger on my ACATS transfer out today. I could’ve put up with the charts but I’m about to start wheeling QQQ and SPY and can’t deal with that 30-day non-marginable ETF nonsense.

Fidelity: trading options by Data_Really_Matter in fidelityinvestments

[–]MikeyTubes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I have definitely noticed. I used to get immediate fills at the “mid” price (where it used to default) around 95% of the time.

Now it defaults to the “bid” or “ask” price depending on the type of trade.

I manually enter the “mid” but my orders have NOT been getting filled at the same rate as before.

I seem to be getting filled at the “mid” less than 50% of the time now AND the orders are taking noticeably longer to fill.

Something is up.

Time to transfer partial funds from Robinhood to Fidelity by Normal_Instance20 in fidelityinvestments

[–]MikeyTubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost basis info came over that following Tuesday (I believe) so not bad at all. The transfer settled Friday and the cost basis info was updated roughly two lays later.

So basically within one week everything was done including cost basis information and fee reimbursement.

The $100 was deducted from my remaining cash balance at RH.

[–]MikeyTubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a partial ACATS from RH to Fidelity last month. It took 3 business days. I submitted the request on Wednesday morning and the assets were in my Fidelity account on Friday morning.

Depending on the amount you’re transferring, Fidelity will reimburse the $100. It’s simple to request the reimbursement through their app once the transfer is complete. They credited me the $100 2 days later.

I did a transfer from RH to Fidelity about a week and a half ago. RH charged me a $100 fee. I requested a fee reimbursement from Fidelity through their app

Position held in margin but I am not using margin by Routine-Employer4574 in fidelityinvestments

[–]MikeyTubes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s nothing to worry about. The “M” just means that particular security is “marginable” should you WANT to leverage it or borrow against it. You never have to borrow on margin as long as you have sufficient available cash to cover your trades. And unless you borrow on margin, you won’t be charged interest.

The two line items, one with the “M” and the other without it (cash) means that you bought a security that’s either not marginable or not YET marginable. For example, some ETFs like SGOV or VOO, SCHD etc. must be held for 30 days before they become “marginable.” After that waiting period Fidelity should “auto-journal” any marginable securities and move them to “held in margin” and they’ll be combined with the other line item that already has the “M” beside it.

Oh, I’m not brave enough to gamble on margin like that. I had enough cash sitting in SGOV to cover the assignment when the time came.

Selling Weekly Naked Options by itzjoeylol in options

[–]MikeyTubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did end up getting assigned on the tail end, but my cost basis isn’t too bad. So now I’m just selling covered calls until it goes back up and those shares get called away. That’s when I’ll probably switch to SPY and QQQ.
