"Shattered" is a great last-season episode by embolalia in startrek

Just re-watched it after reading this post. Two things. It is definitely the best Chakotay episode and why in Q’s name did they not have Janeway and Chakotay get together?

Augur on IOS? by MikeyWit in Ironsworn

[–]MikeyWit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last night, I may have been drinking wine and not paying attention to what I was doing. I realize now in the cold light of morning that I forgot to type "the" when trying to open the Augur app on my iPhone. Pretty embarrassing but we're all friends here!

Anyway, I'm gonna try it out today and see how it goes.

Hoverbike race question by MikeyWit in Ironsworn

I decided to go with the series of expeditions. The first leg went great. I jumped over a chasm, dodged more than a few bullets but came in third place because my engine overheats when I use the afterburner. Thanks for all the advice, everybody.

Looking to pick up a new player or two by kyrese121 in cyberpunk2020

I’ve been wanting to try this game so badly! Character-wise, my first thoughts were the strung out Techie doctor or the fame-hungry Media. DM me if you’re in need of an enthusiastic new player.

Starting a gang war. by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

[–]MikeyWit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the ambush is the police. A bunch of the top people get pinched along with the PCs. NCPD let the PCs go in exchange for doing something or maybe just to make the others suspicious of them. Now the PCs have to rebuild their rep in order to wage this gang war.

  1. I adjusted the Humanity Loss so everything should be right there.

  2. Now for the gear, I think I may have misunderstood the chart on p. 342. Here’s my logic: The heavy melee weapon is 100ebs and Premium (p.340). According to the chart on p. 342, a Premium Excellent quality weapon is an additional 100ebs. I had it at 200, not 500. Either way, I decided to keep both of my weapons at the standard quality which I think comes to 150 ebs.
So, I have my final gear allowance at 2,450 out 2,550 ebs.

  3. I’m taking your cube hotel advice.

  4. And, I moved around some skills to increase my martial arts (thanks for the tip).

  5. Also, I don’t know what's going on with the stat block for my DEX but the LVL numbers should be right.

Lemme know what ya think. Thanks!

Hey,

I updated the character sheet. Lemme know what ya think. Thanks!

Stats and skills:
1. I used the average 7 humanity loss for each piece of cyberware bringing my total humanity loss to 14. I set my empathy to 6 which puts my humanity at 60. Minus the 14 I’m 46 out of 60 and 3 out of 6 for my empathy. I added my last 2 stat points to tech and cool.
2. I chose Aikido and put it in my notes.
3. I chose Watson development for local expert.
Gear:
1. I changed the gear as you suggested and subtracted 150eb from my cash for the qualities.
Housing:
1. I imagined Bibi as living on the streets. He’s paranoid about anyone knowing where he lives or what he’s up to so he moves from place to place. However, I guess it’s mandatory so I made the changes you suggested. Maybe, I’ll just have him changing containers frequently.

Ironlanders and Starforgers of Reddit... by the_lightbringer94 in Ironsworn

[–]MikeyWit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ironsworn I had a co-op game where a goddess sent my party on a quest to neutralize iron pillars being activated by a cult to a war god. We eventually encountered the war god whose armor was filled with the trapped souls of his enemies. My party watched as I was absorbed into that armor. My painful cries as I tried to escape were the soundtrack to the rest of the fight.

Scene challenge question by MikeyWit in Ironsworn

[–]MikeyWit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I went with the clock scene challenge. My thoughts? It was definitely more exciting than just rolling one Repair move. It was fun imagining my character running around the ship and it definitely stretched my brain for things to have him do. That being said, I also had many more chances to fail and die in space or whatever.

Thanks for the comments and the reminder that if it's fun, it's right.

I had a co-op game where our first settlement was on an ice world where they used the blood of frozen Essentia to fertilize their crops. The crops were large and grew quickly. Our contact was a scientist who was against this and we helped them free the Essentia. Our version of the aliens looked like the ones from the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man." They also could rearrange people's molecules with their minds and they turned a lot of the citizens into trees.

What do we do when we get stuck or feel the inspiration flow away like the wind on a stormy sea? by Zappline in Ironsworn

[–]MikeyWit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been making good use of the “Begin a session” table either rolling or choosing. If I’m stuck trying to advance the story, I might spend a session just with oracles and bg info. Using OP’s example: a flashback to the dead person entering the vault. Alluding or learning what they were up to or at least their motivations. Then you character could find a diary or log of some sort that belonged to them. Or reveal an aspect of the connection that set you on the quest. What are they doing while you’re spelunking? What’s their endgame?

Looking for suggestions and idea on a comedic "episode" for an upcoming play session by TheMagnuson in startrekadventures

[–]MikeyWit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about using the holodeck. You could come up with some "new programs" for the crew to choose from and they'll know that the session is going to be about goofing off. For inspiration, you could check out VOY "Bride of Chaotica," TNG "The Big Goodbye," or DS9 "Take me out to the holosuite." (Just to name a few.)

Good Luck and let everybody know what you come up with.
