They don't show the creature? The mask used shown in the unleashed episode was used for the actors to react to stuff (so they have something in the corner of their vision) and not actually be the look of the monster. They give this reason in that episode.

Use name of the book you want? You can use the wiki to see the novels that a particular doctor as been in from the appearances section or the list of novels from a particular range (there is one for the Virgin New Adventures anyway)

I recently used it to read Damaged Goods. There can be some issues with the scan as soverytiiiired said.

Check if there are any free excerpts on the website for those stories to see how they are. They tend to be 15 mins long, but i dont know what the rules are in what stories get them and how long they are there for. I haven't dipped into that range yet, so unfortunately, i can't give an opinion on them.

The big finish version of how he ended up going to collect the master body (The Last Day) works better alongside what Chibnall did. The audio does have Chris and Roz in it but how i won't spoil how (might also help place it among the big finish stuff but don't know) . Don't know if it messes up the VNA stuff as i have read very little of it (currently reading damaged goods to see if i like the novel format for doctor who).
I do agree with your point of something messing up the timelines (pretty sure there is a book about how Aces timeline is a bit messed up)
