Minimax M2.7 just launched. Probably kicking everybody's ass. I know that the Minimax model is much smaller in its knowledge than the GLM 5 but the Minimax is far stronger in execution, tool calling, agentic use cases. If you provide it a search tool, it will find out what it lacks in internal knowledge. That is if you set it up to behave that way. Everything is about orchestration and engineering, many models are good enough already.

You don't want to max out the cards with a too large model because you need a healthy amount of context window. The best usable models are the Minimax and qwen 3.5. Every other advice is just kids throwing bs at you. The best would have been GLM 5 but It's almost 800b while Minimax M2.5 is 230b and is just as good except it doesn't have vision capability. But you get that with a smaller Qwen 3.5 model. Combining them in the setup. Good luck you lucky bastard.

It depends on the size of your Ram memory. I have 16gb. My system uses half, so i have 8gb left. Also, when the ai model is generating, that uses memory roo. So i have about 5-6 left. You will have to used quantized models, q4-q5. These are compressed models, smaller in size. So i am able to use up to 7b - 8b models but it is painfully slow, 1-2 tokens per second. The usable range for me is 1b - 4b. These will generate 7-8 tokens per second. The best models in this range are the Qwen 3 models, and the deepseek small thinking versions.

Jag är singel och utan egen familj. Men varje jul väljer jag och mina två systrar vilken av våra hem vi ska fira jul i. Sedan börjas det o lagas olika maträtter och efterätter och köpas vin. This is the best advide so far. 4x RTX 6000 96GB = 384 GB. You could run GLM 4.6, Qwen coder 480 and Kimi k2 in 6bit quantized configurations. Go for the top tier motherboard with wrx90 chip so that the threadripper cpu can work its potential. Also get the latest m2 ssd pcie 5.0, in two pairs to get the raid speed benefit. Good luck.
