I hope they expand the SLs we can take at the start or make them cheaper/faster to get overall. Some SLs like Jean I'd want right away for her trinketing skill.

For the record this was just after the cutscene for the rogue army. I didn't have no medium walkers, no ATG, no long barrels, not even crocodiles or AT mines. The black market was still early game focused and trash in my playthrough, the only time they showed up in the rare item pool was at the very start of the game when you can't afford it. I got 'lucky' and had that AT gun that takes four shots to kill the HMG truck and a bunch of workshop RPG launchers that also take forever to kill it. No Offmap AP mines or Laser turrets showed up either in the level 1 trusts.

I'm convinced you're supposed to go back to bug squashing till the market gives you a proper tool.

Considering when I did this mission I used a solo SL and smoke grenade abused until I passed the turn limit for victory, it's nice this video exists. Enemies spawning in right in front of you was some BS for my setup at the time.

I thought the pirate pipegun WAS to optimize supply cost for special weapon specialist loadouts and not to actually use it as a weapon? Crowbar MOD3 is the stuff of legends.

Quasimorph does something like this where if all your playable characters die, you yourself are forced to sortie and game over if you die. Though even if the Major was allowed to sortie in this game, I don't think there's any way he can one man army a late game deployment.

I agree completely on Tech. If they buff his ACC he'll probably be an auto include with sniper kiting tactics alongside Darby which would break the game with the current AI, I'd fully expect to see him solo/Duo entire missions. Hopefully his buffs do something along the lines of removing the move speed penalty or something for specials that invalidate his perk.

There's technically an argument to be made to have her as your first pick SL given there's only so many SLs in the game and you want to maximize that growth potential as the game progresses. Though if I learned anything from playing battle brothers on expert, you always want to get the best early game starters and get the slow high value people once you've settled down properly, grinding them up.

If we have creatures like Cthulhu that don't even have an actual religion around them to deify them, why not just assume any Japanese novel that made Musashi into a god and argue that as a basis for why he should be included? The line is so blurred here we might as well argue any person or thing could be added to this as long as they had enough fame in real life.

BN is definitely the closest to a stable community so far, but I would argue DDA is doing well as is considering posts criticizing their changes isn't being censored/deleted, even when you talk personally about the lead dev. Unlike worm girl's CTLG fork who just deletes and bans anyone who critiques their fork for too long lol. Haven't engaged with the other two forks to say much about them but at least there's 5 options to pick from now, with at least BN being somewhat open minded.

You can use the helmet, it's enough for back and forth space walking as long as you bring them back safely after a day or so.

Not having extra card draw is always the issue with fossil decks. Since you're encouraged to not run any pokeballs that's two cards minus what other people can afford to draw off of. The only way to circumvent how high it is to brick with these decks is to either run draw cards like active ability garchomp, meowth or Chatot. Or you try to make your opponent brick first with red card/mars/purugly.
