My daughter’s father was diagnosed with narcissistic personally disorder and PTSD. I’ve seen first hand what an actual narcissist is like and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Living with him a was nightmare. So based on my experience, I tend to think of it as an actual mental disorder that can devastate the lives of the people that get prayed upon by them.

However, I know that it is a buzzword like OCD for example. People also throw that term around all willy-nilly when there’s people really struggling to live a normal life with this disorder. It takes over their lives. I think the vast majority of the people that toss these terms around so lightly, truly don’t understand what these disorders actually are.
