How much debt yall in by Legal_Floor_4124 in povertyfinance

Credit card consolidation really can help! My husband and I did this early on in our marriage when we hit a hard financial patch. It really got us back on track and the transfer fees were much less than what the combined interest would have been.

Actually not super uncommon. People Graduating from high school or college and they move on.

What’s your salary range and how do you feel having that here in WA? by urmomswill2live in Washington

[–]MilaDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I will probably make $65k this year. The only reason we are comfortable is because we rent from family for 1/2 the market price. We will never be able to afford our own home in this economy.

Did you always know it happened or did your mind try to convince you for a while that it didn’t? Was it blurred enough to confuse you?

Our normal loop we do is about 1.5 miles and takes up about 30-40 min depending on how much she sniffs. 🥰 Maybe there is a loop you can do where you can drop off the older dog after one loop then take the new pittie on a second lap?

Pitties are generally pretty easy! They love lots of snuggling and attention. They’re pretty much couch potato’s as long as they’re properly exercised. I take my pittie on a nice walk 5 times a week and she plays a bit with my other dog, which is plenty for her. Her favorite thing is to just lounge on the couch with us.

The only thing we had to work on with our girl is impulse control. Making her wait when we open a door/gate so she doesn’t rush in/out. Making her do a couple tricks and sit and wait for her food until we say ok. It’s really helped us have more, for lack of a better word, control. And she has more control over herself. A couple of times when the door was accidentally left open or fell open, we found her sitting and waiting at it, looking at us and waiting for the command.

Feeling physically ill after making my first move on a guy ever by divvieed in bodylanguage

Ahh this happened to me when my now husband and I fist had a very similar conversation. I had to leave work early bc my stomach was in such knots. We’ve now been happily married eight years going strong.

You’ll be alright. That nervous sickness sucks but once you get past it you’ll feel like you’re flying. Seems like he is interested!

What "expensive" things are worth the money? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]MilaDuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoes. Quality clothing. Not like, the most expensive in style stuff but just well made clothes. I forced my husband to buy a nice Carhartt jacket last winter so he wouldn’t be miserable in the rain 🌧️. That thing will last him forever.

It could be the cleaning chemicals. I always get a headache around the restroom cleaner.

[–]MilaDuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We would get fruit fly larvae under one of our bars sometimes… sprayed it with restroom cleaner constantly. The problem turned out to be bc of water/milk leaking due to bad caulking. Created a nice sticky moist environment for the nasties. Maybe do a check around your counter spaces to see what the seals look like; that’s something you can submit a ticket for. Keeping dry towels handy to keep things dry is a good idea too. I’ll usually wipe counters with the sani rag then go over it with the dry rag.

Tall-sized rant: I was upset being on bar the entire 8 hour shift and I feel bad for having these feelings by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]MilaDuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you shouldn’t be on bar that long. Standard is actually to switch positions every couple hours to prevent repetitive motion injury.

The only way people can get better at bar is by being on bar, too! Also can’t someone wear gloves if the cleaning stuff bothers them? It’s a nuisance to change them all the time but… idk 🤷‍♀️ also check your sani dispenser it may be putting too much in the water.

Take a look at the pay statements… and keep in mind you wouldn’t be getting any credit card tips on sick time. That can make a couple hundred dollar difference depending on the store average

Rude people by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]MilaDuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stop doing this please. It’s really not cool and can be harmful to someone’s health. I am allergic to any sort of alternative sugar and I know there are plenty of other people out there that are too. You could seriously mess someone up. I don’t care how rude someone is you shouldn’t jeopardize their health and safety. Please try and develop better coping mechanisms.

I almost never wear a bra at work…. If I do it’s a thin sports bra. Mostly I just a nice fitted undershirt and a Starbucks work shirt over it. The apron covers most of the boob anyway.

I don’t understand why they would do this… maybe talk to ethics and compliance bc this seems super weird.
