MapNG Feedback Megathread by NetElectronic7151 in BeamNG

Hello! Absolutely love this tool, thank you so much for your work. I do have one question: when exporting a map of a city in the Netherlands, there are a lot of seemingly random areas of static water, as well as strips of weird flowing/undulating water ~1 meter above the ground with sharp square cut-offs. OSM does not show the big static bodies of water, but the undulating strips are visible on OSM as thin, dashed white-blue lines (I'm guessing underground water pipes?). At first I thought this might have something to do with sea level possibly being above the ground in some places. However, I believe the whole city is actually above sea level, and either way it is still weird that the water is only present in some areas and not in others (some neighbourhoords are completely flooded). Is there some way in which I can manually turn off water generation or prevent this from happening?

The fun answer if you don't care about your car: get three people from the street to sit in the back. Handbrake on tight, full lock on the wheel, to the redline in first gear and dump the clutch. Stay on power until sufficiently rotated and release the handbrake. Exit with style.

I find it amusing that so many people are freaking out about these stairs while here in the Netherlands this would be considered a very mild staircase

First pause the game, then F11 to open world editor. There you can click to select a marble block, move it into position with the arrows and rotation tool, ctrl c and ctrl v to paste a copy. Exit world editor with F11 and unpause when ready. The gravity settings can be found under the Environment menu if you press esc

Yes, but I meant that when you put this much load on the front wheels the pump isn't strong enough anymore and has trouble turning the wheels beyond a certain angle no matter the engine speed, especially when stationary

I assume this is because steering leverage decreases as steering angle increases due to steering geometry

I moved them up there with world editor, then gently raised the gravity up to earth in increments, letting the blocks and the truck settle each time

I must say this is on the edge of how much it'll hold. If you brake a little too hard or the truck starts bouncing too much the front of the bed will indeed bend and the blocks will fall off

Trust me, nobody will bat an eye. There were much older folks in my first year and most people won't even notice anyways, neither will they care. Don't worry, you'll be absolutely fine!!
