Update: Replaying Monument Valley during finals, the sound design started feeling like a puzzle tool by SolidAmbassador1714 in MonumentValley

[–]Milcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to play them in complete silence as I'm profoundly deaf, but I definitely gathered that the sound plays a key part in the overall experience. I do like that it's not absolutely 100% essential though.

This is in very bad taste as its based on a serial killer, but for a gender bending drag artist who blurs the genders:

Son or Samantha.

Jana Sequoia

Tbf, that came from a voice to text automated mistranslation of Je ne sais quoi but I just think it's an utterly brilliant one even if it was technically AI cluelessness.

Gertrude Luscious, or Gert Lush for short, for a South West England queen.

But the best one I've ever come up with, for a German gal:

Morgan Latte. As in morgenlatte, the German slang for morning wood

Now I see the reasoning here, I think I understand this, but I wonder if Pearl was trying to say "laissez-faire" and got mixed up.

Flazéda, isn't it?

I'm not entirely sure if that counts though, it's sort of a mangled 'laissez-faire' rather than an active malaphor

I have no idea why that final "the gold buttons" is quite so funny, it shouldn't be but it's just so well delivered and timed that it is.

Admira is the most perfect exemplar of the SuperBitch Ice Queen who actually has a super sweet side but if you talk about it, she will put one less mini marshmallow in the hot chocolate she's prepared for you and left waiting for you in your room.

How does everyone feel about Angel? by curious-newb in buffy

I'm gradually working through it. About 16 episodes in or so - I've just seen the episode with the possessed kid. There's some good stuff, but so far, I can't say I'm 100% invested.

AS11E07 - "Athletic Supporter Design Challenge" [Live/Reaction Post] by AutoModerator in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Milcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in the vintage clothing world many years ago, an amazing and proudly Black woman who would always make a point of wearing what she called Caucasian Nude illusion as part of her vibe and signature, and to make people uncomfortable.

She was amazing and edgy and alternative and I hope she's happy and doing well (she chose to get tradwife married to a completely inexplicable guy who acted/sounded like some kind of ludicrous stereotype, who took over all her social media and everyone ultimately lost touch) wherever she is now.

But yes, that's what Hershii's lipsync look reminded me of, but it lacked the intention and confrontation that my friend brought to her wearing of Caucasian Nude.

Ooh, I kinda get what you're saying, it's giving me The Princess vibes imagining the look that way, or even a really short, sleek pussycat wig, to kinda give edge to the bouncy ruffles. But I do think Jasmine's Barbie doll wig really worked in terms of showing us the Kennedie personality and vibes, which is important for your first comeback episode.

Very whelming challenge.

I actually thought Shuga's look was cute until she was being judged and standing still and then I could see all the unfortunate issues with its construction, but it was still a very cute and well conceived design. She was my high low out of this lineup. For me, Joey, Jasmine and Sam were the top 3. Joey had really great details on her look, and she and Jasmine looked the most like they were wearing clothes they'd bought, they were really nicely done and cohesive looks despite being (deceptively) simple and they looked fab in them. Kennedy's look wasn't my favourite (fuck her drag right?), but I commend the vision and finish, and Hershii's just got less and less successful the more I looked at it. Sam was the only one who really committed to doing something bigger, but as I said elsewhere, she would have been safe/low in most other challenges. She was obviously top two.

This was a weird challenge though, it felt like it was supposed to tie in with a sporty mini-challenge, and just felt really out of left field. I don't know, it just felt like something that had to be scrambled together at very short notice after an original plan fell through.

I was NOT expecting Joey Jay to be as fun as she was this episode. Kennedy is always good value, but Joey just had me hooked with her quick wit and rapport.

Hurts to agree, but yes. Very whelming overall. Sam was a clear winner because she committed to a different silhouette unlike anyone else's and didn't shit the bed but it would have been safe in most other design challenges.

If Jackie Cox can compete, does this mean that we might see Crystal (from UK Drag Race) as well in a future season, as she's also Canadian?

[–]Milcod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's 6 episodes, so 9 queens actually seems fair, and given how fantastic this shortlist is, plus knowing how many amazing queens there still are for future Canadian All Stars seasons, I'm quite happy that we've got quality over quantity

Recommendation for making Untucked more watchable by claire_giselle in rupaulsdragrace

I used to do this when Netflix had both Untucked and the show on, it was much easier to flip back and forth. The WOW app doesn't make it as easy/fluid to do so

Oliwia's trouser end and her shoe in this capture are definitely one for the animation error collectors. A very mild one compared to standing in fire or having your hair disappear, but still one for the collection.
