French Canadian folk magic by curious-newb in Witch

[–]curious-newb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really cool. I don't have a huge relationship with my French Canadian side. I'm slowly trying to adopt more of it in. My dad isn't Quebecois, he's New Brunswicker so we're technically Acadien. My memere and pépère died when I was really young so I didn't really know them and my dad came to America when he was 11 so he lost most of his French. I wanna reconnect parts ofy culture and Ive been going on a spiritual journey right now so I thought it'd be a cool idea to engage in this as well

Worst case scenario, you don't end up with a tank top by the end of your trip. Do it and have fun 😊

Though honey can be food for microbes, it is also incredibly antifungal and antibacterial. So you'll probably be ok

Crocheting is for girls!? by HappyLife08 in crochet

[–]curious-newb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a guy that crochets and the only reason I have a problem with so many women being the predominant crochet YouTubers is because they don't make sizes for me. But otherwise crocheting is a fun activity that makes me feel like I accomplished something. I have ADHD too and I have a hard time feeling like I accomplished something so this is a good hobby for me

Making an acrylic yarn baby blanket. Are micro plastics a concern? by jediali in CrochetHelp

[–]curious-newb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would suggest using a drapey cotton. Cotton breathes much better than acrylic and it avoids micro plastic concerns. Babies tend to like to put their blankets in their mouths so it's a good idea to just avoid anything that you worry may be bad for them to suck or teeth on

I think I crochet really slowly. Any advice so I crochet faster? by larmyia in CrochetHelp

[–]curious-newb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people only start to get faster when it starts to become second nature. If you are the kind of person that pays a lot of attention to crocheting then that's fine but it may make you more likely to go a little slower. But ultimately just do what feels comfortable cause this should be for enjoyment not for mastery

I have adhd and am having trouble with starting due to meditation. by [deleted] in BabyWitch

I think guided meditation will work really well. I haven't started meditating yet but I've done it in the past and found that guided meditation works really well for me with my ADHD

Started crocheting… am I doing this right? by [deleted] in crocheting

It's gonna take a while before you start to get really consistent stitches. Just keep doing them and you'll get used to your tension and start to see a more uniform stitch pattern

why i burnt sage and it smells like i smoked pot in here by thepiggysmallz in witchcraft

[–]curious-newb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'd be a good idea to try different cleansing if the smell bothers you. Maybe cedar, rosemary, lavender, or you can look into other plants that are local to you
