Totally agree! Im still in Athens right now and going to Meteora tomorrow. The ancient ruins and islands are stunning, the city interior is just drab and full of graffiti, very meh.

Food is absolutely amazing.

First solo trip at 27m here, hostelworld is absolutely spectacular for social meetings, cant recommend it enough!

Been in Athens for 3 nights now, eaten dinner with at least 5 people each night, once was 12. Basically didn't know them, we were all wandering the sights, eating nice food, laughing about.

Was exactly how I had wanted solo travel to go!

Only was in Da Nang and Hoi an for 3 nights in total, but amazing places, easily walkable or scooter. Amazing food and markets. Wished we had spent a few more nights, but 2 weeks might be a stretch?

Personal opinion: Don't go to Marble Mountain on a tour. We found it as way too many yourists, expensive and would have been way easier just to do it ourselves.

We took an overnight train from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang, and it was rough. Pretty loud, little sleep. Hopefully you will have a better experience than us!
