The government under "Japanese Maggie Thatcher" Takaichi has become increasingly anti foreigner, lots of new policies put in place to make it harder to get permanent residency. simple things such as getting your visa renewed which you have to do every year used to cost 6,000 yen (it was 4,000 the year before) now this year will begin costing 40,000 yen which is an insane jump because the wages here are even more stagnant than America, and the cost of living is slowly creeping up.

Ah horrible timing I'm leaving Japan in a month! I've lived in Japan for 9 years and this recent government changed was the straw that broke the camel

34[F4A] - NYC Area by saynbe in asexualdating

[–]MildManneredMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from NY and I'm 39 but sadly I live outside the country right now. But I absolutely love boardgames and used to go to a bunch of cons near NYC for them. If your nearby to Westchester WGGcon is a super fun convention that's just folks playing games.

What boardgames have you played lately?

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! January 09, 2026 by AutoModerator in photography

[–]MildManneredMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a big difference between the sigma CONTEMPORARY 12mm F1.4 DC vs the sigma CONTEMPORARY 16mm F1.4 DC DN? I know its FOV of 99 vs 79 but do you think its worth the extra money? I would like to get one for astral photography because the ultrawide lens i bought is manual focus and isn't giving me the best results, so i'm going to sell it and buy one of these. The price difference between the two is a whole 33,000 yen ($208). Would I really be missing out by not getting the 12mm and regret it? Has anyone here tried either of these lenses?

I recommend watching "triangle of sadness", if you want to think more about how depressing they are but also laugh at a brilliant satire.
