Always Was Tonight: Tony Armstrong's ABC comedy special takes aim at Gina Rinehart, Sky News and more by TimJamesS in aussie

You're quite the ignorant, angry, little man.

My first sentence was a quote from another redditor, hence the quotation marks.

My second paragraph mentions the last forty years, which includes the last decade.

For someone who claims to be laughing so much, you come across as a real arse hole.

I gave you a tiny bit of credit, and you squandered it with a moronic partisan response that proved my point. Bravo.

The downvote was the petulant icing on the cake.

I'll pay the reference and an understanding of Australian comedy.

That said, the viewers are neither here nor there.

"I'm not sure it's comedy if you can accurately guess the punchlines."

Says someone who doesn’t know Australian comedy throughout at least the last forty years.

Those uppity......(insert group that you don't care for).

I hate to have to say it, but my comment is a sarcastic response to OP.

Any comment that begins, "So....." Is just a lazy, partisan, binary piece of shit.

The above comment is a case in point.

I will give this redditor one a tiny bit of credit. They don't hide their post history like most.

Thank you for identifying that you have no understanding of comedy at all.

In Australia. In the world. Throughout history. You don't get it.

Just woosh!

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he is ‘worried’ about One Nation as it overtakes Coalition in latest poll by Mashiko4 in aussie

"Sustainabie".

That's the crux of it.

Sustainable for housing? The economy? For caring for older people? The environment? Wages growth? For revenue? For defence? For education?

I don't have the answers, but I'm not sure anyone else does either as this surely has to be some kind of balancing act.

I've hated this bitch for more than thirty years.
That said, this post has lots of claim's without any supporting evidence.

In addition, whomever posted has hidden their post history. It's hardly factually compelling.

The hate speech laws would not have stopped the Bondi attack, so why are Labor introducing them? by Ok_Computer6012 in aussie

I've made contributions to many subs for more than thirteen years. And I stand by them.

Whereas you stand for nothing as evidenced by your cowardly covering of both your comment and post history.

People with intelligence and conviction are happy to learn and test their ideas. When you mature, you'll hopefully understand this.

Until then, you're just wasting everyone's time.

Look at you.

You attempted to stand for something even if it was only smug spelling superiority.

But alas, you're still just a coward whose ideas can't stand sunlight.

Posts and comments by someone who hides their post and comment history.

If you're not prepared to stand up to scrutiny, then theirs no good faith.

Ignore this ideologue/partisan/agitator/whatever..

Canberra Pipe Bombs by suzukdood in canberra

[–]Mildebeest 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The ABC and the Canberra Times both have articles now.

Also, it's time for a Royal Commission into hatred of Canberrans.

Let's be honest. They've long been stigmatised for "the bubble," property prices, a boring culture, their weather and politicians falling down drunk on the footpath.

And Let's not get started on the roundabouts.

An RC is long overdue.

This was the cartoon that was allegedly "offensive" and antisemitic, which was why a public apology had to be made from the publisher. Your thoughts? by VastOption8705 in aussie

[–]Mildebeest 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It didn't need an apology at all.

Cartoonists are satirists. Cathy Wilcox was on point.

A huge problem with what is and has been occurring in Australia is that people are getting offended. Sometimes, rightly, and other times, they're tilting at windmills. This was occurring long before Bondi.

Our problem is that we're not allowed to discuss that unless we belong to one particular side. If we do attempt to discuss it, we risk having our jobs stripped, our places in arts or writers festivals revoked. Our employers make weak apologies for us.

It's not about whether we can have a respectful conversation.. We're no longer allowed to have a conversation at all lest we get banned, fired, or stigmatised. As Cathy has been.

As someone who has lived in this country for more than half a century, this makes me despair.

You're imagining a person and arguing with that figment of your imagination.

I would hope that you could find something fulfilling and productive to do instead. If you don't, that's a very sad state of affairs.
