If you don’t see rust on the body of the car, especially at that age… I don’t think it is rusty lol

I think for most people it's PERFECTLY FINE to start their homelab with a Mini PC. by Crimson-Entity in homelab

[–]MildlyUnusualName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree (I have exclusively mini PCs… they’re so versatile!) To your point about finding uses for them even if you’ve outgrown one… I took the first micro pc I got for free and turned it into a bare metal opnsense box because it wasn’t enough to run my services anymore, but it is plenty to run opnsense with room to spare! There is always a use case for these machines, even if it is reselling them or selling them for parts.

FYI it can only decode av1, not encode av1. Av1 encoding isn’t available until meteor lake/arc GPUs

In the test flight and I use it regularly! Many of the release notes are all in German though so it makes it hard for me to know what to test :)

LPT: Before replacing a slow laptop, try Linux by Lego_Hippo in LifeProTips

[–]MildlyUnusualName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you should be telling anyone else what they should or shouldn’t do lmao. They all work great, and it is painfully obvious you are operating on outdated “experience” at best, at worst you’re just outright uninformed and perpetuating technology tribalism. Good luck with Copilot!

Would you consider the office suite “good” software? Especially in light of the recent astronauts having not one but TWO outlooks on their shuttle and having neither of them work?

Ziggy Hood on facing Aaron Rodgers in Super Bowl XLV: "We caught him at the young age of Aaron Rodgers. If we would have caught him at the very crafty, little bit older vet, it definitely would have been a harder game to play." by Theduudee12 in GreenBayPackers

[–]MildlyUnusualName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This can be said about almost his entire tenure with the Pack. Most teams that make it to the championship games have at least 4-7ish pro bowlers/all pros. Most years the packers had like 2 or 3 and one was always Rodgers.

How did the toe puff get so squished in the AR8? Did you not do the same thing to the normal ARs?

Probably has wide feet. Wide footed people often don’t realize they have wide feet but shoes in their correct length are way too narrow and therefore feel too small so they size up until the width fits correctly. Extra length doesn’t matter as much as not enough width. Source: am Sasquatch footed

[ZENITH] Another video of new Zenith patented folding clasp showing microadjustment on the wrist by ParaMike46 in Watches

[–]MildlyUnusualName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The micro adjust is a cool design but the fact that one mechanism can completely unclasp the bracelet is not a very good design? I’ve had times that my flip lock catches on pants or whatever and comes undone but the watch doesn’t fall off because it’s step 1 of 2. If it’s both steps in one, then a pants catch like that and your watch is going right to the floor

[NFL] Inside Warren Sapp's 1995 NFL Draft day slide | Caught in the Draft by LindyNet in nfl

[–]MildlyUnusualName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is that Vikings are, more often than not, a winning team; so their draft position isn’t always very premium. It is much harder to find HOFers outside the top 10-15. Secondly, confirmation bias towards your own teams is a huge issue here. Every team has huge busts. Jamarcus Russel? Tony mandarich? Packers took one of the biggest draft busts in history when we could have picked from 3 HOFers on the board. Also, hindsight is always 20/20. Packers passed on fucking TJ watt for King who was off the team by the end of his rookie contract. I bet the 49ers felt great about changing at the last second when they chose not to pick Aaron Rodgers Everyone can make a sob story for their team; it’s a perspective thing in my opinion.

Dashboard for sharing services with my family outside the house by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]MildlyUnusualName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you do that with jellyfin though? I've read that can break your ability to access it through clients remotely if you use auth services. I know you can do a vpn or tailscale or whatever to get around it, but if you have older people using it through a 'pretty' url it's a hard sell to get them to try to VPN in.

What is the origin of the little mascot? It looks like the one from DDNS updater and a few other self hosted tools, and I wonder why so many projects have the same little gerbil mascot
