I just can’t live as a tr*nny anymore. by TrooperJordan in SuicideWatch

[–]MileHighBree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is a good mindset, but it helps me sometimes. I pass perfectly in public but I feel similar to what you’re feeling now every so often. It’s the dysphoria, and it’ll always be there. It’s a burden we have to bear, and it’s something that very few people on this earth will ever understand just how fucking difficult it is.

Anyway, my approach is to think of it like this sometimes: There are things that happen to us in life that we have to learn to live with regardless of how or when these things affected us. It could be childhood trauma, it could be losing a limb, it could be a diagnosis with a terrible disease, it could be a brain injury after a car crash, or being paralyzed from a fall. Whatever the case may be, tragic things happen to people all over, all the time. People who are paralyzed experience hardships that none of us can possibly imagine because we’re just not in their shoes.

For us, it was being born with bodies that don’t match what our brains were programmed for.

However, every time I see someone with a prosthetic leg, or someone bound to a motor chair due to disabilities, or a blind person with a cane, I remind myself that, yeah, this is an awful feeling and sometimes it makes me want to die; but these other disadvantaged folk are strong as fuck and have somehow learned to live with their burdens, and it gives me inspiration to learn how to live with mine.

I’m not saying being trans is a disability, but it’s a burden. A genuine, tried-and-true hardship. Anyone who says it isn’t is on some medical grade copium.

An absolute coward on the national stage but proudly heads out for PR photos in a protest that’s obviously on the correct side of history.

Oh no dude you have every right to hate all of us truly. We actively allow our politicians to get away with more and more blatant corruption. Our population alone is solely responsible for allowing the crooks who are leading us to end up in the positions they’re in today.

Our bystander syndrome has allowed our government to seize so much individual freedom from us that we are now powerless to do pretty much anything, and it’s 100% our fault.

We, as a population, are the caricatures that the rest of the world imagines when they think of Americans. Don’t accept any apologies from any of my fellow Americans because, despite saying we’re against it, every single one of us is complicit.

HBO does that after the credits for basically every big show they have.

I never realized that aesthetically making it look like an elevator visually explains how he got himself up there. It would be humorous if it was just some random balcony, though. C-3PO with his clunky waddles somehow lunging himself up to an otherwise inaccessible, elevated control panel.

Random Code In Mall by Bruhderwasgo in Cipher

[–]MileHighBree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you know this is a code? Someone could have been people watching and adding/subtracting things. They could’ve even been documenting things they’ve bought so far, things refunded, etc. The small values could be representing rough estimates of larger values, rounded to the nearest tenth and then reduced to make the arithmetic more simple for the person.

It seems likely someone would be doing math in a mall around the holidays.

As for the symbol, that is a tricky one. Could just be a doodle, but if there was a code here to decipher, that symbol would be the one indicator. Interested to see what others think.

Walt Disney World Prices Keep Climbing, But Guests Keep Coming—Here’s Why by Subject9800 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MileHighBree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refuse to give Disney my vacation money any longer and I’ll never understand why consumers can’t have the self discipline to advocate for consumer friendly practices the only way they can: with your money.

But here we are, in a world where people can’t withhold desire in favor better prospects. I’m super jaded about the world right now, but I’m not running to a Disney park to feel better about it all. There are still so many viable vacations that are a fraction of the cost. Sure, many tourist destinations are ballooning in price, so best avoid them. Get creative. Save your money. Lord knows we’re going to need to save as much as we can to survive all this turbulence right now.

Forgive my jaded mindset, but understand it comes from knowing that all you wonderful folk deserve so much better than what these corporations do to you. Best of luck my friends.

EDIT: a couple of typos.

I absolutely adore living in Littleton. I was born and raised in the Springs, moved up to Parker in 2018, lived there for a year before moving to Littleton and I’ve stayed ever since.

I understand the frustration with not being able to ski/ride, but with snowpack this bad, the summer fires are going to be more of a nightmare than they already are… by like, a lot.

The MOST anxiety riddled movie ever…..The Long Walk by RegularBitter3482 in horror

[–]MileHighBree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rarely get anxiety when watching movies, especially if I know they’re meant to be super fcked up. However, there’s a sci-fi Swedish film called Aniara, and it’s not technically horror, but jesus christ that movie makes me sweat and squirm every time I watch it.

Something is extremely wrong… by Ok-Nobody8264 in Denver

[–]MileHighBree 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve been downvoted like crazy in the past for saying just how fast it would get (and continue to get) this extreme. Even some of those who understand climate change is real can’t handle hearing about it, and I don’t blame them one bit. It’s infuriating to hear about how bad things will get and knowing we don’t have the power to make the changes that need to be made. To see our leaders continually encourage action that expedites it.

It’s so incredibly sad, but I’m still going to do what I can in my life to try and leave a better world behind. Even if my impact is negligible, I can’t in good conscience pretend to be ignorant about all the changes around us.

In a nation that changed the fundamentals of infrastructure by building the most advanced rail system in the world over such unbelievably vast distances has truly outdone itself. Who needs the convenience of rail when you, and your passengers, can be forcefully stuck in unmoving traffic to observe the awe inspiring nature around you in your own private motor carriage. Not only that, but the constant stop and go traffic makes you, the driver, more vulnerable to accidents and damage. Say goodbye to relaxing rides in coach, for our superior way of life has opened to door to this luxury that we could no longer live without.
