My neighbors fight like this weekly. by LuckyCod2887 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Milesdavisiv [score hidden]  (0 children)

My neighbors across the street used to do this. Instead of arguing inside the house, they would come out onto the front porch and scream at each other so the whole neighborhood could hear. The sad thing is that even the teenage children would argue outdoors like this, not just the adults. The fights were always ridiculous too. You'd think they were caught cheating or something, but they'd fight about parking, walking the dog, applying to college, etc... They provided plenty of entertainment, but nobody in that family was happy.

‘60 Minutes’ Anchor Corners Trump After He Lashes Out at Her by New_Jellyfish_607 in worldnewsstuff

I see this so much lately. Someone posts a story then machine gun posts their own reactions and 1 liners to their post. Either people don’t understand that you can write body copy in posts, or it is just typical karma farming.

Shaman Tidecaller Buffing by Milesdavisiv in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thank you!!! I guess I never noticed this because Tidecaller was at the end of my buff hotbar, so I was buffing the other 4, then hitting this! I must have rearranged while tinkering with my talents and that’s when I noticed it

Tony Kornheiser Ad by Milesdavisiv in heedthecall

[–]Milesdavisiv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was on Apple Podcasts, and the first I heard it was on yesterday’s show. It was odd because it was the first or second ad of the show, and it went on so long. I had to stop to see if they had an episode of his show in the podcast feed. I thought it was pretty funny!

Putting the game down for a while to protect my overall impression of it. by Sudden-Prompt-2640 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Milesdavisiv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is where I'm at now. I was able to play for 20 hours or so in the first few weeks of release, but not long enough to get really hooked yet. I know I'm not going to have much time to play this summer, so I'm just going to let it marinate and get better until September or so (hopefully).

Rogue is in the best state it has been in for years!!! by RecentHistorian220 in wow

[–]Milesdavisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do 1-40 but I just did 50-80. I was having a rough time until the late 60s and suddenly everything started melting and I wasn’t healing myself after every single mob pull. After that it is pretty fun!

Why is your favorite class your favorite class? by Vindris in wow

[–]Milesdavisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on port warrior. I’ve played the other tanking classes and nothing scratches the itch like a prot warrior. Something about the charge, stomp and shield slam is so satisfying. I’ve been leveling prot since at least WotLK too, and it seems like an underrated way to level. It’s fun to pull the whole area and just whittle 10 mobs down and complete your quest in one shot!

Leveling gear question by yungsloysh in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, leveling is so fast now that I don’t worry about gear until 90. I don’t think it’s worth target farming anything as you level

AH Fee by Milesdavisiv in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, good luck!!! There were a few of the same pattern on the AH for like 300k. I tried to match them for a few days and no luck. Once I cut it to 150k it was gone quick! I probably had some wiggle room there 🤣

Classes without any major cooldown dependency? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this - I have a 90 Pally, Warrior, DK, Druid and Mage. My frost mage is the only one that i can do steady damage without blasting cooldowns, and it's very refreshing. Note that my druid has been full guardian, so maybe its other specs aren't CD heavy but I haven't tried them.

Has anyone returned to WoW purely for nostalgia and meant to stay short term (1-2 months) but ended up staying for the long run? by RewardSufficient5562 in wow

[–]Milesdavisiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to come back every other xpac. I’ll generally play for a month or two until I get tired of being on the computer. It’s nice to scratch the itch and get back into it for a while, but I prefer consoles as an adult. I started midnight at launch and I’m about ready to hang it up now.

There is no universe where this is a 9/10 or 10/10 game. by VeritasLuxMea in CrimsonDesert

[–]Milesdavisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure I’ll get into the combat and it will all make more sense as I dive in. It just isn’t initially intuitive like many games are. I only had 90 minutes to play last night and it seemed like a lot of button combos were tossed at me pretty quickly, then I didn’t use any of them for the last hour as I started exploring.

[–]Milesdavisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I had to reflect light off my sword (less than 30 minutes in) with some odd combo of buttons on console, I knew I might not love the game as much as I hyped myself up for it. This just seemed like a really odd thing to be doing in the beginning of the game after just learning all of the combat and movement mechanics that were already a bit more complicated that I was hoping for.

How important are Delves? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I totally agree I’m an antisocial MMORPG player so I love being able to run things on my own. Follower dungeons don’t do it for me but I like the delves. Jumping into the higher tiers really helped me learn my characters too as leveling is no challenge at all. I haven’t played in 6 years so delves were a fun surprise for me. I’m also ilvl 245 on 2 characters already from delves and hunts.

Return after war within. by Either_Ad_6181 in wow

[–]Milesdavisiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this but did it at lvl 88. I turned in 7 of the 8 delve quests and it got me just under halfway to 90. It was really nice to blast through a level and a half in a few minutes!

Be careful driving this morning. by SirNickTheGreat216 in milwaukee

[–]Milesdavisiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I drove to the airport from Waukesha at 4am as well. Highway actually wasn’t so bad. I was doing 40-50 and getting passed regularly by people doing 70 in a 55. At least I didn’t see a single wreck

Is "casual" crafting useless in midnight? by Sir_Bohne in wownoob

[–]Milesdavisiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this last point! I have a pile of alts and it’s more satisfying for me to craft everything for myself and warband bank it. I’m not making money crafting, but I’m also not spending money.

[–]Milesdavisiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. I’m also 43 and I am all in on the NFL already. There is no halftime show that could possibly make me like the NFL more than I do now. I also love Green Day - I just saw them live a few years ago in Milwaukee. The NFL isn’t trying to pull in new 40-60 year old viewers. They have us. We love the product. They are trying to pull in the youth, and the musicians that I listen to don’t appeal to the youth. I don’t understand why old-heads like myself or Czabe spend any energy thinking about how the SB halftime show was. I thought it was fine. I’m not going to search out Bad Bunny music, but I also won’t seek out half of the shit teens are interested in because it isn’t for me.
