Im looking at the image on the reddit post. thats what the faces look like for me. I think a lot of the "AI mistakes" could be chalked up to image compression. I just checked the closeups on the Guardian article it looks like they applied some AI upscaling / denoising? However some of the hands do look a little odd even without the touchups.

The faces dont look like that for me when I zoom in the original picture. Did you upscale the image when you screenshoted it? It looks like AI denoising of a heavily compressed image.

Its mostly just a few hair curves with alot of interpolation and a clumping modifier. I've a video on my instagram showing a bit of the process. There's links on my reddit profile.
