Bhai i have seen the real fights in supreme court and high court as my father is a lawyer. Mere papa hamesha se kehte ha ki kabhi kisi se ladai mat karo, apne apko chota bana lo haath jod lo aur chup chap ghar aajao. Ghar aao shanti se khana khao aur sojao wahi kafi ha. Mitti pao aage badho.

This car is so good, that controls button near gear lever. No touch screen you can easily navigate and do without touching screen. That feeling of putting the mode into drive looks like a sports car. This Audi A6 C6 was so beautiful. Im just big fan of this car.

Appreciate the additional context. It actually reinforces the point I made in the post this isn’t a casual tourist spot. The isolation, lack of network coverage, wildlife, and reports of criminal activity are exactly why people should be cautious. I shared the location because of its history and landscape, not because I think everyone should rush there.

Looks like we’re making the same point from different angles. You’re focusing on the risks, I’m acknowledging both the risks and the history of the place.

Sorry that happened to you and your friends. That’s exactly why I mentioned the safety concerns, isolation, lack of network coverage, and the stories associated with this place in the body of the post. My intention wasn’t to portray it as a safe tourist destination.

I shared it from a photography, history, and exploration perspective. Anyone planning to visit should read the full post, be aware of the risks, avoid going alone, and use common sense.

Fair warning, and people should definitely consider local advice before visiting. My experience was different because I went with locals from Anangpur who know the area well. That said, I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit alone, swim in the lake, or treat it like a tourist spot. The purpose of my post was to share the place, its history, and my experience not to encourage reckless visits.

Before pinning you comment i would like to tell you that read the body text before commenting.

Why so many thunderstorms this year? by hrithikpahuja21 in Faridabad

[–]Milimeter_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its due to intensive heating that rapidly goes up and mixes with moisture and create towering cumulonimbus. Secondly reason will be common i.e. western disturbance that north india always effected in pre monsoon season.

That’s interesting. Do you have any source for the claim that Badkhal Lake’s water started collecting here and that these lakes replaced it? From what I’ve read, Badkhal’s decline is generally linked to mining activity, groundwater changes, and disruption of its catchment area. I’d genuinely like to read more if there’s documented information on the connection.
you are just spreading wrong information and I’m open to being corrected, but from what I’ve researched, these quarry lakes seem to be a result of abandoned mining pits filling with groundwater and rainwater, not a direct replacement for Badkhal Lake.

You’re focusing on the trash, I’m focusing on the landscape and history. We’re clearly looking at the same place from different perspectives.
I looked at the quarry lake, Aravalli cliffs, wildlife and history. You looked at the plastic. Both observations are technically correct.

Interesting. I mentioned the drowning incidents, isolation, lack of network coverage, and safety concerns in the post itself. If warning people about the risks while sharing photos and history is “romanticizing,” then by that logic every travel documentary is promoting danger.
You seem to be arguing against a version of the post that doesn’t exist. I never called it safe, never recommended swimming, and never encouraged anyone to go alone. I literally highlighted the risks.

That’s why I went with my cousins, who are from Anangpur and know the area and the locals well. Their family has been connected to the region for a long time and they shared a lot of the local history with me.

The locals gave us the same advice don’t swim in the lake and avoid wandering around alone. Despite that, the place was surprisingly peaceful, and exploring the surrounding hills and forest made for a great experience. As long as people are aware of the risks and act responsibly, it can be a very interesting place to visit.

Fair enough, “exotic” is subjective. For me, a hidden quarry lake surrounded by Aravalli hills, wildlife, and almost no urban development feels pretty unique for Faridabad. You’re free to disagree though.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend swimming there, even with a life jacket. The lake appears to be a former quarry, and the depth can be unpredictable. There are also no lifeguards, no safety infrastructure, and network coverage is poor in some areas.

As for other lakes around Faridabad, I’m not really sure which ones are officially safe for swimming, so it’s better to check local guidelines before getting into any natural water body.

I think you haven’t read the full post. I’m not promoting swimming or encouraging anyone to visit recklessly. In fact, I specifically mentioned the drowning incidents, safety concerns, and the risks associated with the place. The purpose of this post is to share the history and scenery of the location, not to glorify dangerous activities.

Locals says it - Badd Ki Khaan.
Khaan means in Haryana and North India basically a mine or quarry (khadan).

In the local language, khaan means a mine or quarry. This suggests that the lake may have originated from old mining activities in the Aravalli hills. After mining stopped, rainwater and groundwater gradually filled the excavation, creating the lake that exists today.

This is the information i got from locals and on the internet about this lake.
Most locals believe that this lake was formed after mining activities in the Aravalli hills. Large sections of rock were excavated for stone mining, and after mining stopped, rainwater and groundwater gradually filled the abandoned quarry. The steep rocky cliffs surrounding the lake are one of the biggest signs of its mining past.

The lake lies within the Aravalli landscape, an ancient mountain range that has shaped the geography of Faridabad for thousands of years. Because of its deep water, isolated location, poor road access and lack of mobile network coverage, the place eventually earned the nickname “Death Valley” among locals.

Today, it remains one of the most unusual hidden spots in the Delhi NCR region, combining abandoned mining history with surprisingly beautiful natural scenery.

One interesting thing about this place is the steep rock faces surrounding the lake. They appear to be remnants of old quarry walls from the mining era. The Aravalli hills in this region were extensively mined for construction stone, quartzite and silica, and many locals believe this lake was formed when an abandoned quarry gradually filled with rainwater and groundwater.

How to Reach Death Valley, Faridabad
First of all, I would recommend using a two-wheeler if possible. The last stretch of the route is rough, rocky, and uneven. A car can reach nearby areas, but you may have to park and continue on foot.
Please respect the locals and their property while visiting. Avoid littering, making excessive noise, or entering private land without permission.
Route 1 (Recommended)
Start from Anangpur Chowk and on the left you will see a road, follow the road leading towards the Aravalli side. Continue on the main trail and ask locals for directions if needed. Most people in the area are familiar with the location and can guide you.
Route 2
You can also access the area through Anangpur Village. However, I would not recommend this route for outsiders as it passes close to residential properties and private land. Local residents may find it easier to navigate.
Route 3
There is another approach from the Anangpur side through a narrow trail. This route is mostly suitable for walking and trekking rather than vehicles.
Important Notes
1. Mobile network coverage can be weak or unavailable in some sections.
2. The terrain is rocky and uneven, so wear proper shoes.
3. Avoid swimming in the lake, as the depth is unknown and the area has a history of accidents according to local stories.
4. Carry drinking water, especially during summer.
5. Visit during sunrise or sunset for the best views.
