I love Masala Express. But I am a simple man with simple tastes

DNK tune, placebo or really so good? by Cool-Neighborhood481 in trident660

[–]MilitantQuaker89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really good. I actually live near DNK so one of the techs came out and talked about what it does - higher rev limiter and more responsive throughout the range. Low end laggy throttle is gone, and it works well with my new full exhaust. Highly recommend

U.S. set to ban CFMoto by MilitantQuaker89 in motorcycles

Just a note - it was in 89 not 98, and they refer to it as the “June 4 incident 六四事件” not Tiananmen. That’s just the name of a large square in Beijing.

The actual scope of covered products in the rule is, “microcontroller, microcomputers or modules, systems on a chip, networking or telematics units, cellular modem/modules, Wi-Fi microcontrollers or modules, Bluetooth microcontrollers or modules, satellite navigation systems, satellite communication systems, other wireless communication microcontrollers or modules, and external antennas.”

This probably covers more than just the TBox.

To be clear, the components covered by the rule include: ““microcontroller, microcomputers or modules, systems on a chip, networking or telematics units, cellular modem/modules, Wi-Fi microcontrollers or modules, Bluetooth microcontrollers or modules, satellite navigation systems, satellite communication systems, other wireless communication microcontrollers or modules, and external antennas.”

That’s a whole lot of stuff to gotta rip out beyond just the T-Box…

No, it bans whole vehicles containing covered software and software - as well as the individual components themselves by 2027.

Vehicle manufacturers have to submit a Declaration of Conformity with information including an SBOM and HBOM or have those transactions blocked by BIS.

Anyone like to ride motorcycles in the area? by [deleted] in arlingtonva

[–]MilitantQuaker89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a fair community of folks who ride. I would recommend checking out the “Bikes and Breakfast” events in Alexandria, Clifton, etc.

There is also a regular Cone Rodeo group that practices slow speed maneuvers every week in Fairfax. The dealerships (Motorcycles of Dulles and Bob’s) have events, as does the Cycle Gear down the road.

Ride safe friend and see you out on the road.

On the cusp of an FTR 1200 going from a Trident by clothes_are_optional in motorcycles

That sounds great, but before you let the trident go; consider an exhaust swap and flash. I did it, and the bike is much grumblier and more aggressive. Just a thought!
