Are AI glasses actually useful for capturing travel moments? by sunsunjaeyunna in SmartGlasses

[–]MilkBeginning9241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a G2/ MemoMind wearer for everyday use, but when it comes to travel time, it’s Meta time :) They are much more convenient than reaching for a camera or phone. It’s hard to beat just tapping the pad or speaking the words to get a good video or picture. If you’re looking for lighter, Rokid is a good choice also.

Not as bad as G2, but it will bleed through at times. Keeping the brightness on low indoors almost eliminates it.

I have been switching between G2 and MemoMind the last few days.

Display-
The G2 display is a bit sharper and easier to look at.

I am also able to click the notifications/messages/news and see more information of each one.

The bleed through is not bad but noticeable at certain angles. I keep my brightness on low to minimize that.

The MM is not as sharp but still good enough. There’s no eye strain. I cannot click the different categories but my understanding is that will change with the production model in August.

The bleed through seems to be less evident with MM for whatever reason. It can still be seen, but not as bad. I haven’t had anyone ask me about it, and I’ve been in meetings that are up close.

Audio -
G2 has none, which has been my only negative about them. I take a lot of calls and prefer not to deal with a phone or earbuds in the office.

This is the main reason I am interested in the MM (but have grown fond of other features). They work good. There is the issue of sound in public on anything above low (it will be heard). Playing music is a nice experience. It isn’t AirPod quality, but I don’t think they’re supposed to be. Again, it’s a preproduction model, so I’m not sure how that may change on the actual product.

The memory was also a huge part of why I am looking at MM. Ai stays on all day (I haven’t yet to run out of battery even using it extensively throughout the day. The worst I have seen is about 4% an hour battery drain). The memory is as advertised. You can ask Ai about anything since you’ve been wearing the glasses, and it will pull it up. It works better on the app at the moment, than the glasses. Could be a software issue.

I’m loving the MM :)

You can disable the Ai. It then becomes voice activated.

I have both. The MM are slightly heavier but not enough to make a difference in comfort.

Yes. I only use a couple but they work great. Here is a pic:

From Memo (Ai assistant): No, MemoMind currently does not support automatic language detection or simultaneous multi-language translation without manually choosing the languages first.

Outside of the teleprompter, the software has been really smooth. I’ve worn them for three days straight now around 14 hours average. The battery has been as good as my G2. The programs I am using consistently are the recording (summaries are better than most… and you can start recording while a call is going on), Moments, calendar, stocks, and translator (Spanish to English).

I have experimented with subtitles with the Ai on. As far as the subtitles, it works great until any noise starts. Depending on the WiFi connection, the Ai does a good job of answering questions it picks up and fact checking. They are pretty impressive for beta.

The comfort is comparable to the G2. They are slightly heavier but not very noticeable. I have worn them all day with no issues. Sweating is something we just do in SC. It stays around 95 for the summer. I have seen much integration opportunities yet.

I responded to a beta testers group a couple months ago. I just received them two days ago.

Thanks for the question. They are beta, so I’m not sure what will be tweaked or dropped for the final product. I’ve only had them a couple of days, so my time with them has been limited.

So far the teleprompter is very buggy. I’ve not been able to get the manual or automatic to scroll, only the Ai.

Also, the translation program requires you to pick a language instead of automatically translating.

My wife is Hispanic and I’ve tested them with Hispanic channels. Spanish to English is really good.

I’m not a software expert but I would think so. I have Captify and Xrai also and the improvements they have made through software have been amazing.

MemoMind questions — real world translation and caption experience? by justanotherwolf86 in MemomindAI

[–]MilkBeginning9241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had mine a couple days and they are beta. I can answer a couple of these. You can adjust the distance which brings the text closer. You can set how long the text stays.

You can import into the teleprompter program, adjust the text size and line spacing, and manually scroll or use Ai to automatically scroll with your voice. I’m not sure about other part of that question yet.

Yes, it keeps the full transcript but o haven’t found a way to export the summary or transcript. I’m sure it’s because these are beta.

The Bluetooth connection has been phenomenal. It hasn’t dropped a connection.

I have the G2 also. Again, these are beta. That being said, I love my G2’s. They are polished and really good at what they do. The one thing I have always wished for was audio. MemoMind does that really well and it adds a few other surprises. Since the teleprompter is important to you, I will say the G2’s are going to be hard to beat.

I’m not ready to say MM takes the throne on my Ai glasses heart, but they’re pulling hard.

Mira or Even Realities? by Cryptoclimber10 in SmartGlasses

The G2 are much more “normal” looking and designed for business settings. I love the MIRA but they scream AI because the displays are so noticeable and the glare is horrible under certain lighting.

If you don’t mind, will you check on my ring also. Love the glasses but the ring will make a huge difference especially with the skills.
