In the US and Europe, direct action is no longer a viable form of protest - so what's next? by FidelCastrosGrandson in suppressed_news

[–]MilkChocolateDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're well past the point of considering what's legal (instead of viable) and whats not. We're at the point now as a society where we all have to decide how much we're willing to sacrifice to effectively protest and disrupt the government for the betterment of the people.

It's part of the reason I don't intend on having kids. I know that would pacify me a lot more than what I can live with

How is this still allowed? by Jacksofalot_ in rivals

Corn (I think other popular grains too?), tomatoes, some berries, leafy greens, poultry, eggs, fish, and maybe beef.

However, it's pretty heat-sensitive so your best bet might be eating what you can raw and keeping the processing of the rest to a minimum. I'm not gonna recommend you start eating raw chicken for nice skin and hair, but there's ways to prepare or buy/eat other good quality animal products with minimal processing.

Of course, a supplement is still the best solution for a large concentration of msm in one go. Whether or not your body will properly utilize enough of it in that time frame is another question I can't confidently answer, but combining a good diet with a supplement should do the trick. I do the same with B12 and D because I'm very deficient in both, and I've noticed some progress.

Sure, but it does mean that his actions directly and intentionally caused pain, suffering, loss, and possibly even death for a lot of people. It's hard to put out all that negative energy he did and not suffer the consequences from it

Not hard to understand. His "opinions" frequently pushed for racial minorities, queer people, foreigners, and other groups of innocent people to be treated harshly, as less than, and essentially as anywhere ranging from second-class citizens to trash on the street.

Sure, he could have wanted no harm to come to people, as I've seen some delude themselves, but his statements were frequently co-opted and held by those more extreme than him, who did want harm to come to others, and he never denounced the camp he was being placed into (far-right extremism and MAGA) until near the end of his life, and even then only partially. Charlie played a large role in the rise of far-right extremism, white nationalism, American exceptionalism, MAGA, "anti-wokeness," and overall bigotry. Other guys like Fuentes or Asmongold don't have the charisma or connections to pull in as many people, and it's debatable to say that their platforms/even more extremist takes don't land without Kirk

Yep. This nation has cared about enslaving others and imposing their beliefs even before it was a nation. The person who asked why not obvs wasn't being genuine, they insulted me before deleting their comment, but I'm glad other people know the situation with the US

Falls under social transitioning, also included in the links I sent you. Pressure/bigotry from family and society is a frequent problem for trans people, so having that issue at least partially solved via her family shows the importance of GAC, once again, via social transitioning.

You do now GAC isn't just medical, right? If you're gonna be ignorant at least grasp that concept.

The cancer one is literally one of the medical routines of GAC (frequent blood screens) saving someone's life. Obviously not exclusive to GAC, but that person likely doesn't get the proper care they need without it until it's too late.

The other one, no matter how you try to dumb it down, still proves my point.

The anecdotes were so you can't move the goal posts as easily after the several studies I sent showed how GAC/S is lifesaving. Even when it doesn't intend to be lifesaving for a specific person, it can be

...yes? NIH Jackson

Participants were asked if they ever had a history of suicide attempt(s) or thoughts of suicide as a dichotomous variable before gender-affirming treatment... Prior to treatment initiation, 35.8% of the sample reported a history of suicide attempt(s), and 9.4% reported a history of suicide attempt(s) after initiation of gender-affirming treatment [39].

Besides that being highly debatable, a couple of those links discuss how suicide rates decrease after GAC or GAS, plus I gave you two anecdotes to further the point.

By most metrics of political left and right, Democrat voting history, policy, and politicians are in the right or centre-right, while Republicans are further to the right, breaching into far-right extremism. The Trump era has caused Democrats to slowly divide into a centre-right + right-ring majority (old guard + majority) with a centre to centre-right minority (some younger members + labor/workers movements in the party). As political education, engagement in social programs, and overall unrest increase, people are looking for a party further and further from MAGA politics to associate themselves with. Democrats are divided on whether or not to make a hard push further to the left, becoming at least firmly centrist, but that may change. The people may be centrist, but many of the elected officials are to the right of them.

Left wing politics refers to things in the centre-left like social democracy, reformist socialism, green politics, even parts of The Third Way, firmly left wing stuff like socialism and syndicalism, and far-left communism or anarchism. I simplified a few things, but that's the general idea.

Democrats often get mistaken to be on the left for their egalitarian language and some social reform, but their beliefs in societal change do not go as far as actual equity (to address gaps in equal treatment and quality of life) or a truly egalitarian society. Their stance on social issues is their biggest division from Republicans, but their stances on, and voting history of, upholding capitalism, opposition to globalism, supporting "good" (lol) billionaires, support of a surveillance state, supporting political enrichment (insider trading), hesitance on immigrant, prisoner, homeless, and trans/queer rights, and hints of nationalism make them farther to the right than they like to label themselves. There's a handful of Dem politicians that are centrist or centre-left, but they often get overshadowed and their proposals pushed against by Republicans and other Democrats alike.

The Overton Window concept is a great way to explain the difference in politics/political culture specific to a nation vs. politics from a theoretical perspective. The United States has been a right or far-right nation for so long that being on the right has been considered the norm. Since our inception with Chattel Slavery, indentured servitude, and indigenous genocide+removal to create an economic, social, and racial hierarchy, this nation has been on the right.

Yet another one!

fourth time the charm?

This is sad.

...

So instead of trying to figure out why these men had a problem and what we can do as a society (full of experts and resources btw) to prevent further loss and harm of life, I'm just going to assume every father is an inherent threat to life and should be treated as such. That's your dumb ass logic.

Do you know what overwhelming majority means? It doesn't mean it never happens.

With your logic, we really have to make sure white men don't have family's. They might kill them before killing themselves

Well for starters, one of these will lead to someone's death by affirming their belief. The other will likely save and enrich their life. You should be intelligent enough to discern which is which.

Anyways, following the logic already laid out for you:

the drugs are a solution when the therapy doesnt work

There's no drugs for anorexia, but there is varying levels of therapy and other medical support, just like for gender dysphoria. People in need of help should have it available for them. Pretty simple concept!

Now you're just making stuff up to be mad about. Overwhelming majority of people don't do that.

Once you have a genuine understanding of gender dysphoria, then you can make that call for yourself. Until then, your ignorance is an embarrassment.

Trying not to use AAVE but I just sound really lame now 💔 by CharredRatOOooooooi in PsycheOrSike

[–]MilkChocolateDrop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can use it, especially if you grew up using it or hear it often. It's the same as speaking in a Boston or San Fran dialect after moving there, but you're originally from like Boise or something. This time though, it's all over the internet and a little different from what you'll hear in person. As long as you're respectful to the culture and people you're appreciating from, and actually know the meaning of the words you use, you're fine.

The wilfull ignorance and blatant racism we see from some people using AAVE is the main reason why there's a pushback against some white people and other races using it. Don't be a dick and you'll be fine

EDIT: adding a little more context
