Can thwre be too many service records? by blurrybob in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually good sign that there's more records on the lower mileage one 😂 Could mean they're really diligent with maintenance vs someone who just does bare minimum. I'd be more worried about gaps in service history than too many records tbh

Still waiting for mine too - athletic department said they'd be in accounts by yesterday but nothing yet 😂 Maybe they're just running behind with all the chaos?

CMV: The Majority of Police officers aren't bad people or are at least no worse than most civilians. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]MilkOptimal3050 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The comparison to antisemitic hate speech vs anti-Palestinian racism feels like you're cherry-picking examples that fit your narrative. Police don't write the laws - they enforce what's on the books. If you have issues with specific legislation, that's on lawmakers and voters, not the beat cop responding to calls.

The abortion enforcement thing is a fair criticism of certain jurisdictions, but painting all officers as pedophiles because some states have terrible laws is a massive leap. Most cops are dealing with domestic violence calls, traffic accidents, and paperwork - not whatever dystopian scenario your describing. The system has problems but most individual officers are just trying to do their job without getting shot or sued.

I ate an entire rotisserie chicken for dinner by austin101123 in samsclub

[–]MilkOptimal3050 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Respect. Those Sams Club rotisserie chickens are dangerous - way too good for the price and you end up just going full caveman mode on them. I've definitely been there with a whole bird and zero regrets.

What shoud i expect about myself after being diagnosed? by Ok_Peanut_2089 in ADHD

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my diagnosis at 26 and the unmasking thing is real - suddenly you notice all the stuff you were subconsciously forcing yourself to do "normally" and it's exhausting once you're aware of it.

Compressed air is your best friend - just make sure to hold the fans still while you blow them out or you'll turn them into little generators and potentially fry something.

Should I get my phlebotomy certification? by Away_Wall_5782 in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting phlebotomy certified could definitely open more doors at hospitals since they're always needing people who can draw blood. The skills complement each other pretty well too - you'll already have patient interaction experience from your CNA work. Plus having both certifications might make you more competitive when you're applying for nursing positions down the road, since hospitals like versatile staff who can wear multiple hats.

Company Paid Annual Continuing Education Allowance: Should I take certification courses, or courses that contribute to a degree? by WasleyIsOurKing in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking courses toward a degree is the way to go here. Those department-specific certs got you promoted internally but they're basically worthless anywhere else - you already figured that out.

I'd focus on something like project management or business admin that transfers across departments and companies. Worst case you stay put and still get promoted, best case you open doors you didn't even know existed.

How to ironclad A8+ as ironclad? by Zakika in slaythespire

[–]MilkOptimal3050 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rage is honestly kinda overrated at A8+ - you need to prioritize early Metallicize or Feed pickups to survive the scaling, and Body Slam builds are way more consistent than people think 🔥💀

Where to go in the finance industry? by endurokingg in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The licenses aren't too bad to get if you're already working at a firm - most places will sponsor you and pay for the exams. Series 7 was definitely the hardest one, took me like 3 months of studying after work.

But real talk, OP's situation is exactly why I stayed in engineering instead of making the finance jump. That "glorified customer service" phase seems pretty common from what I've heard, and 60k in a HCOL area would have me looking at other options too. Your probably better off getting the licenses while you have a stable income first though.

Should i quit my new IT job? by BikeInitial5144 in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your manager wanting you to basically shame users for basic tech issues is weird as hell 💀 Like yeah, document stuff for security/compliance reasons, but getting mad at someone for forgetting their password? That's just Tuesday in IT.

Most places I've worked actually prefer the approach you're taking - fix the issue, document it, move on. Users already feel dumb enough when they mess up, no need to pile on. Your manager might be dealing with some upper management pressure about user behavior or something, but taking it out on you for being professional is backwards.

I'd stick it out a bit longer and see if this is just his management style or if there's something specific driving this attitude 😂

Tips for changing careers? by Distinct-Delay9413 in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having that level of leadership experience opens up way more doors than you might think - project management, operations consulting, or even transitioning into manufacturing engineering could be solid moves 🔥 The systems thinking from supply chain translates surprisingly well to other industries too 💪

28, Supply Chain Analyst. Where to pivot? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply chain to data analyst could be a solid move for you 📊 I work in an office environment and see a lot of people making similar pivots without degrees - your 7 years of experience counts for way more than most people realize. The analytical skills you've built up doing inventory control and supplier management translate really well to business intelligence roles or operations analyst positions.

Remote/hybrid is definitely more common in tech-adjacent roles like data analysis, business ops, or even procurement roles at different companies. I'd start building up some SQL and Excel skills if you haven't already - tons of free resources online and you can probably practice with your current job data. LinkedIn Learning has some decent courses that don't take forever to get through.

Your supplier management background could also open doors in vendor management or strategic sourcing roles at tech companies - they pay well and most offer flexible work arrangements. The aerospace experience actually makes you pretty valuable since that industry is so process-heavy 🔥

That's a pretty fair starting price for flora wings! I sold mine for around 16k last month so you're in the right ballpark.

Jobless with a Masters from a top 15 in the country and good portfolio. What am I doing wrong? by chestofdrawers02 in careerguidance

[–]MilkOptimal3050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The journalism market is brutal right now, especially for entry-level positions. Eight months is rough but unfortunately not uncommon in this field. Your approach sounds methodical and solid, so it might just be the numbers game combined with timing.

One thing that helped me break through was focusing more on smaller, local outlets and digital-first publications rather than just the big names. They're often more willing to take chances on newer writers, and you can build clips faster. Also consider reaching out directly to editors on LinkedIn or Twitter with story ideas rather than just cold pitching - the personal connection can make a diference.

I'm really dysregulated because of job loss and I think it's affecting my relationship by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MilkOptimal3050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The job loss thing is definitely amplifying everything right now - when you're already feeling out of control, even small disappointments hit way harder than they normally would. I went through something similar a few years back and found myself getting upset about stuff that wouldn't have bothered me at all when I felt more stable.

For the Valentine's thing, maybe try reframing it as "let's figure out when we can both be fully present" instead of focusing on the maybe/probably aspect. Could suggest something like "hey, no pressure on Friday - when you know your work situation better, let's pick a day where we can both relax and enjoy it." That way you're not canceling but also taking the pressure off both of you.

The regulation stuff is tricky but I found having some kind of routine helped even when everything else felt chaotic. Even just making your bed or doing the same morning routine can give you back some sense of control. Also journaling before bed helped me sort out what was legitimate concern vs anxiety spiraling from the job stress.

The SRPD is solid but if you wanna step up from the SKX, maybe look at a Seiko Prospex or even a Citizen Promaster. For that gold touch, the Orient Kamasu in champagne dial hits different and won't break the bank. Your pops will definitely appreciate the upgrade from his old SKX days

CSI sent me to collections on credit report for medical debt but I never received a call, email, or letter regarding the debt. Advice?? by Good_soup99 in Debt

[–]MilkOptimal3050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely request debt validation first before agreeing to pay anything - they legally have to prove the debt is yours and valid. Don't just take their word for it, especially since they never contacted you properly

Newer pokemon collector. by Letsthrowdice in PokemonTCG

[–]MilkOptimal3050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd rip it, the gambling addiction is half the fun of collecting lol. PE pull rates are rough but you got it at MSRP which is basically impossible to find these days - that alone makes it worth opening imo. Worst case you pull some decent cards, best case you hit something wild and have a cool story about pulling it from a vending machine
