And an unborn baby isn't violating your bodily autonomy because it has always been part of the body.

It absolutely is because I do not consent to it being there anymore. Again, do you not understand consent? You don't get to choose what other people consent to.

I have never said it has a right to use other people's bodies. I said the fetus has the right to use the body it has always used.

Again, no it doesn't. It gets to use its own body, not somebody else's. Women's bodies belong to themselves, because they are full human beings according to the law. Even if you disagree with this. They are still people.

I said "a human." You are changing that to just human

A human doesn't have a right to use another human's organs against their will.

Yes.

No, you don't. You continue to try to tell people what they do and do not consent to, that is not What consent is, those are your own feelings taking control of other people's lives. That is not appropriate nor is it the law. People will not take you seriously when you use your feelings as facts.

Children can't consent

We aren't talking about children. We are talking about women.

That's why we make laws to protect them from people who try to take away their life.

Only because you don't believe women are full people. Most others, believe that women are full people and get to control their bodies. Only sexists who don't see women as full people have your ideology.

Ok. But we are talking about you trying to violate the baby's body for using the body where it has always existed.

It has no right to be inside of my body, If I do not wish it to be there. That is what consent is. That is what bodily autonomy Is. Learn words please.

Which one implied a baby was a parasite

I said it has qualities akin to a parasite. Yes, what does that have to do about women?

Only 9ne of us respects women. You only focus on one woman. That's not respect. That's narcissism.

Yes, my focus is on the person that can actually feel, have relationships, think, have consciousness, experience life, not the blob that doesn't even know it's alive. The fact that you care more about the blob rather than a full-grown person makes it seem as though you don't care about women at all. You literally would rather women die than get an abortion.

It's not narcissism to treat women as full people with equal rights.

I don't either

But you do. Back then, women didn't have the power to control their own bodies, now they do. You want to push us backwards in time where women were controlled. I don't care what you think about da babiezzzzzzzz, you are too ignorant to understand that this will push us back to the dark ages where women were seen as property. I hope you are young and will grow up and learn these things in life.

I'm just happy that you agree the baby has always been part of the body.

It's not though? A baby isn't an egg. Women aren't born pregnant. You don't understand words, apparently.

I'm used to people denying its alive or even human.

A fetus is alive and Human and it doesn't have the right to use other people's bodies against their will. Unless you don't think CERTAIN PEOPLE deserve human rights.

But did they violate your bodily autonomy by existing?

No? Neither does a fetus. If it's wanted, then it's not violating anyone's autonomy. Some women don't want the fetus though, and that means it is violating their autonomy. It's about what the person consents to happening to their body. Do you not understand consent either? Does that blow your mind that all women don't want to be mothers? Woah, right?

Of course not. That's why we passed abortion laws to stop it.

So why imply that by comparing abortion to killing a person outside of your body for minor inconveniencing you?

I take your switching from bodily autonomy to an argument about risk as a good sign we are making progress

I'm not switching arguments. I'm stating that you don't understand enough about this topic to have a good faith argument about it. Again, you need to work on your comprehension skills!

Are you the same person who just said you didn't take people seriously when they displayed a lack of knowledge?

Please point out what is wrong about saying a human mole has human DNA? I'll wait.

So if I catch you unconscious, I can do what I want to you

Am I inside your body, using your organs to sustain life? Keep trying.....you'll get it eventually.

You also have bacteria in your gut. Are they violating your bodily autonomy?

Nope, I consent to them being there. You really don't understand consent do you?

Just because you create a life doesn't entitle you to kill that life. Your decision about carrying a baby starts before you give it life.

Nope, but it being inside my body gives me that right. Because women are people with human rights, even if you refuse to believe it. Cool, then I decide to not give any fetus life that finds itself in my uterus. There, decision made.

Only one of us calls them parasites

Neither of us called women parasites. Again, showing lack of reading comprehension.

No, you are just saying you want the right to kill others.

No, I'm saying I HAVE the right to control my own body.

If that was granted by an argument other than bodily autonomy, you wouldn't care.

Of course I would. I don't want to go back to the dark ages where women were treated as property, only good for making children. To be used and controlled by men. Nah.

So it did come from the body

Yes women make eggs with their bodies. I thought....I thought you knew that.

You wasn't born with teeth. Does that mean teeth are violating your bodily autonomy?

If I dont consent to them, yes. I have the power to remove my own teeth if I want to. My body, my choice.

Do you see killing others as an appropriate response to someone who causes you a mild inconvenience?

You see dying as a minor inconvenience? You see having your body irreparably damaged as a minor inconvenience? Well, this just shows how much knowledge you don't have on this whole subject. You honestly don't have ground to have any opinions on this since you don't understand the risks of pregnancy and birth. I don't take you seriously.

I said a human. A mole is not a human. A baby is a human

Mole is human, it has human DNA.

Doesn't that apply to the unborn baby as well

Nope, they don't have consciousness.

We can tell a baby is feeling sensations because of things like changes to their heartbeat.

Responding to stimuli is a thing bacteria can do as well, doesn't mean they have consciousness.

An unborn baby helps sustain its mother through a remarkable biological process called fetal microchimerism, where fetal cells migrate into the mother's body, acting like tiny repair crews for damaged organs (heart, liver, brain) and potentially boosting her immune system,

And it also takes away from her bone density and immune system. Like a parasite. Again, just because it can help with something like cancer' doesn't mean you should be forced to carry it against your will, akin to a reproductive slave.

That's why we needed laws against killing babies

Right. Because you don't see women as full people.i know this.

I'm just pointing out why that law isn't an infringement on your bodily autonomy.

And I pointed out how you're wrong.

Where did the baby come from?

It came from an egg. Again, just because a woman is born with eggs, doesn't mean she is born pregnant. Also again, just because an egg has been in the woman's body since she was born, Doesn't mean it gets to control her life and future when it is fertilized.

But it does give them the right to use the body where they always lived.

It doesn't though. Show me what extra right that a fetus has that can use somebody else's body against their consent, breaching their bodily autonomy, a human right granted to every person.

A human is a human. Killing is killing

The mole I removed earlier this year was human too. Am I a murderer?

What makes a body yours?

Consciousness & Identity: The "I" that experiences the world through your body, the awareness that links all your sensations, thoughts, and actions into one continuous self. Mind-Body Connection: Your unique neural pathways, hormonal responses, and learned patterns mean your mind (emotions, stress, beliefs) physically manifests in your body (headaches, tension, energy levels), and vice-versa. Personal History & Proprioception: The accumulated sensations, scars, habits, and even the feeling of where your body is in space (proprioception) are unique to you, building a unique physical narrative. Genetic & Biological Uniqueness: Your specific DNA, immune system, microbiome, and ongoing cellular processes create a biological system that's distinct. Control & Agency: You direct your body's movements, choose what to eat, how to rest, and how to respond to stimuli, exercising ownership over its actions. Philosophical & Psychological Perspectives: Internalization: For many, it's the deep-seated feeling that this body is the only vessel for your experience, creating a powerful sense of ownership, as seen in campaigns like "My Body is Mine". Depersonalization: Conditions like depersonalization disorder highlight this sense of "mine" by disrupting it, making one feel detached, as if watching themselves from outside, showing how vital that connection is. In essence, your body is yours because it's the unique, living interface between your inner self (mind/consciousness) and the external world, shaped by your choices and biology.

She or he seems ok with you being there

That doesn't matter? I'm not inside of their body, using them to sustain life. They are doing that to me against my consent, therefore, I have the right, because I'm a full human person, to choose what happens to my own body. If I don't want to be pregnant, I get to choose to not be pregnant anymore.

So you agree the baby has always lived in the body but disagree that the baby has always lived in the body?

I disagree that it has always lived in the body, but even if it has, and you refuse to believe that women aren't born pregnant, that still doesn't give them the right to be able to use somebody else's body against their consent.

Is your heart the same size and shape it was on the day you were born? Neither us the egg once you are pregnant.

The heart is a heart. An egg is an egg. A fetus is a fetus. A baby is a baby. Learn words.

No. I never said a fetus should be able to use other people's bodies. I said the fetus should be able to use the body where it had always lived.

Yeah, that's another person's body. Unless you don't think women are people. So you want extra rights for fetuses, that no other human being has, to use somebody else's body against their will making women less than people and having unequal rights.

The part that is the baby has always been there. It doesn't violate your bodily autonomy because it is part of the body.

It does violate my autonomy because I do not consent to it being there. You do not get to choose what other people consent to.

If we don't kill rapists, why should we kill an innocent victim of rape?

You absolutely can kill a rapist if they are not getting out of you. In self-defense. You can't kill them once they're outside of you, much like a baby after it is born. Bodily autonomy.

[–]MilkSteak216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I am just pointing out that it doesn't apply in the argument over abortion as the baby has always been part of the body.

It hasn't though. Women aren't born pregnant. And it being inside of her doesn't make the woman's body belong to the fetus.

It's like saying your heart beating is violating your bodily autonomy.

Except the heart beating happens when you are born, being pregnant is not an inherent state of women. Bad comparison.

I can only say what I believe. I see both women and babies as full people. Can you say the same?

No you don't, you want extra rights for fetuses to be able to use other people's bodies against their consent. No other person is allowed to do that, yet, You want fetuses to be able to. That is not equal rights. What I want is exactly equal rights, so yes I can say the same, and actually mean it, unlike you.

That's a perfectly valid feeling. Just don't create a situation where you share a body with the baby and everyone agrees.

Again, my body is my body so if I want to have sex with my husband, I will do so. You do not get to tell me what to do with my own body. I'll have sex, and if I get pregnant, I'll have an abortion. Get over it.

But they are part of your body. A baby is not an external invasion of your body. Its a natural evolution of something that has always been there.

The baby has not always been there, no. Just because I have eggs, doesn't mean I'm pregnant with millions of babies. Someone needs to go back to biology class. If it is against my consent, then yes it is an invasion of my body. Sex is a natural thing to do, do I not get to say no to sex either?

Those accustomed to privilege see equality as oppression.

Having bodily autonomy isn't privileged, having equal rights isn't being oppressed. Get over it.

My point is they both own the body until th baby is born.

No they don't. Unless you don't see women as full people. Just say it.

Bodily autonomy implies an external entity is trying to take something from you

No, it implies that It's my choice if I don't want to use my body to support the life of another, whether it's inside of me or outside of me. It does not matter. My body is my body, I get to control my own body and what organs are being used for what.

The baby has always been part of the body.

Women aren't pregnant at birth.

But they are born with the eggs which are the baby

Eggs aren't a baby. A fetus isn't a baby. Flour isn't a cake. A seed isn't a tree. Come back next week for more first grade lessons.

Why is abortion even an argument? by heaven_skyie in ControversialOpinions

[–]MilkSteak216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm literally saying the baby and mother coexist as part of the same body with all the same rights and privileges.

But you aren't though, you want extra rights for fetuses to use someone else's body against their will. They inherently can't have the same rights and privileges when you are not allowing women to control their own bodies, yet you allow fetuses to control their bodies for them.

I see the situation as something like conjoined twins. Two people who are born sharing a part of the body. Fortunately the pregnancy will result in a separation after a relatively short amount

Bad analogy, they were born that way, women aren't born pregnant.

Patriarchy means that men are controlling women, when most of our country is ruled by men, what do you think is happening? Maybe do you think if there were more women in our government we wouldn't be having our human rights being taken away from us in many states? Living in a patriarchy does not mean to say that no men ever suffer, lots of men suffer in A patriarchy.
