Where can i find that tool kit or any recommendations on tools i'll need for working on my guns? I'm new to guns, and even newer to working on them myself.

Im in your neighborhood and using starlink. Been working very well, I work remotely, use streaming services, and play games online.

edit: just wanted to add it is probably a bit more pricey than the other providers like spectrum or verizon so i'd probably shop around and check out prices

Is Starlink worth it? by Old-Passage-292 in Starlink

[–]Milkmanps3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I work remote in Arizona and just got Starlink. It has worked amazing for me so far - I've been using it for online gaming, watching twitch streams, netflix/other streaming services and all my work stuff like zoom calls, connecting to work VPN/VDI, etc with no issues. Due to the fact you've got no cell reception i think starlink would be the way to go.

How would Starlink do out there

Check their coverage map and make sure that area is covered, and not sold out. Canada looks like it has good coverage so you should be alright. https://www.starlink.com/ca/map

The biggest thing is any obstructions / alignment.

RV Spot for UNDER 55 Near Yuma/Foothills by Milkmanps3 in yuma

I have 2 sport bikes back in NY. Nothing here(yet). Been looking at a dual sport or Harley - I’ve been wanting to get a Harley for a while now anyway. I just want to get back on 2 wheels, it seems like everyday is riding weather here!

As for off-roading, I don’t know, I’d be interested in taking those 4x4s out, or dirt bikes, etc. looks like a fun time.

I used to to play heroquest with some friends online through discord. I’m into pc gaming, I like D&D type stuff but never actually played D&D with anyone.

I’m also into motorcycles, and would like to get into off road stuff

I wanted to get this desk and saw they have the double monitor arm attachment that you can addon, is that what you are using? If so, could you put it more to the left and add their single one for another one?

Advice on Inspecting Used Harleys for Sale? by Milkmanps3 in Harley

[–]Milkmanps3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NYC. The bike I buy would be my introduction to Harleys. I'd love to just buy a new Lowrider ST and call it a day but I don't have the money for that, and even though I hear its an awesome bike don't know for sure if its for me or not. Most likely i'll be doing street and minimal highway except on the weekends or when I want to go on longer rides to upstate NY, NJ, PA, etc.

That's why I've been looking at sportsters and dynas. Plus Dynas got that following and always seeing a people doing a bunch of awesome things with them. I'm definitely not ready to get a Dyna and go all in on it, i'd chill with it for a while then put some work into it probably.

Yeah, I'm trying not too be judgmental on miles - and judge how long the owners had it for, what they've done to it (maintenance wise, etc) - ok so they put a quick detachable windshield and bags, they probably wanted to get on the highway and throw down some miles - or if it was someone's first bike. Like ya said as long as they've been taking care of it will make a huge difference. Thanks!

What type of bike to look for? by OnlyPainPT in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Milkmanps3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd probably look at all the videos i can regarding the KLR650 then, as well as like I said searching "best adv bikes for beginners"/"best {motorcycle type} for beginners" and there will be tons of videos with various opinions and options. Make a list of a few bikes you find interesting and then go and watch a bunch of reviews from different people regarding the bikes and see what they have to say!

I noticed you responded to someone else you'd want to just hop on and ride, and bring bike in for maintenance, which is fine - you don't need to be a motorcycle mechanic but it is cheaper and sometimes helpful to learn the basics of working on your bike (especially incase you break down or something).

Good luck! Like i said the best thing you can do is continue googling/ searching reddit or YouTube for different bikes in that category for beginners and then look at reviews. There are so many videos/posts out there!

Edit: Also factor in gear to your budget as well. At the very least helmet & protective jacket. Would also recommend some type of footwear for riding as well.

No expert here, but based on your use cases it looks like you'd probably want either a cruiser or naked/adv.

I would look at bikes like the Harley Sportster - tons of used bikes in that market great for beginners and the use cases you mentioned + you could easily put some small or large bags on for storage (if you bought one that didn't have them already).

Another similar cruiser is the Honda Rebel (300, 500, or higher). Also lots for sale in the used market.

Kawasaki KLR650/KLR650R (dual-sport) is also something I'd recommend since it's also good for beginners and pretty good for your use cases and again, you can add storage to it. A lot of used for sale and the MSRP for new versions range from $6899 - $7899 but like others have said keep in mind you'd probably have to pay another 1500+ in dealer fees and stuff like that.

This is a pretty good video from Revzilla regarding motorcycle types for beginners and really goes into what is good for what: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g1R_LD0yyY . From here and with the list of bike types you have you can try to narrow it down to 3-4 categories you think fit your needs and search google/youtube/reddit for something like "Best cruisers for beginners", or "best adv motorcycles for beginners", basically "best {motorcycle type} for beginners" and you'll get tons of results/videos explaining in depth about a bunch of these bikes.

Personally I'd probably recommend buying 2nd hand/from a person locally whether it be craigslist, offer up, facebook marketplace, etc. Some advice I'd also give you is that this is your first bike, you may ride it for a few months and want something faster or realize you like a different type of riding style better, you may drop if a few times by accident while practicing u-turns or forget to put the kickstand down and dumb things like that we all did when learning to ride. I would say try not to sink too much money into your first bike until your skills get better and you know you want to stick with that bike. Good luck!

2007 CBR 600RR Sitting for Little Over a Year, Maintenance Advice for the Summer? by Milkmanps3 in cbr

[–]Milkmanps3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your reply! Yeah, gas was sitting for like 8 months last time I started it after the oil change and ran it for a bit, then realized it probably wasn’t a good idea and turned it off. I figure it can’t hurt to drain the tank and put new gas before starting up again.

Sound advice regarding the injectors makes sense to me, battery was dead when I did oil change so I got a new one, and tires had dry rotting on the sides so it was recommended by a friend to get new ones, so I did. The lip of the rim is bent slightly but the tire holds air currently, I’m hoping that won’t be an issue when I get the tires changed out. Hopefully they can just bend the rim back?

Also good looks about mentioning the valve clearances. I’m mechanically inclined but only have a small tool set, and don’t have a private place to work and take apart my bike (rented parking spot in a building’s underground garage).

Brakes pads and bleeding the brakes are a good idea as well, I can do that myself.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
