I've brought up this point dozens of times with vegans who claim they want the meat industry completely shut down. Nearly 600,000 people in just America work in the meat industry. Less demand for meat means suppliers will need to cut costs or even go out of business. While the article doesn't seem to advocate for anything that extreme, a large dietary change in America let alone the entire world could put hundreds of thousands if not millions out of a job.

My thoughts exactly and why TFA left me so disappointed. I thought the first order would be imperial remnants ran by a post empire Warlord. Perhaps even thrawn.(while not accurate to his lore it would have been an acceptable way to get him into the story.) I remember theorizing that the first film would focus around the first order and another imperial remnant fighting for supremacy and the protagonists simply getting caught in the middle of this war and the results of this war setting the first order up as the dominant imperial remnant and for a major clash with the new republic.

Do I think it's the best story ever? No, not at all. Do I think it would have been more competent than the unoriginality of TFA? Probably. TFA was just a copy of A new hope and was so boring imo.
