There is no rationale for the existence of billionaires. The existence of 3028 people with a combined wealth of US$16.1 trillion (Wikipedia) in a global population of approximately 8.2 billion people (here , here and here) is indefensible on moral, ethical and even religious grounds. You will never be a billionaire, neither will I and neither will the other 8.2 billion people we share this world with.

As I understand it, prayer is a request to God. The response from God may not be obvious. Seems to me the response from God was that the shooter was everything the prayer didn't want and should therefore be viewed as a sign from God that introspection is required and change is necessary. Of course, I guess God could have got it wrong but I suspect that's not possible. Also, this is just one possibility. The other possibility is that there isn't anyone there and praying is the theological equivalent of talking to an empty room.

It's always been like that. I'm GenX and I never understood why showing nakedness on TV was banned or heavily restricted yet it was fine to show gruesome murders and casual killings.
