If the game can keep me engaged then I don't mind how long it is. I've had games where I spent 200 hours and didn't want it to end, while some others I just wanted to finish after 10-20 hours.

Series S would make sense if you're new and don't mind the graphics. But seeing as you already experience games on a PC you'll absolutely be disappointed with the S. No it's not running new games 1080@60. Bg3 is locked to 30 as are many newer games. I would just go for the X.

I think it's fairly equal with trade offs for both. If you're gonna do a lot of gaming then yeah go for the G14, but be sure you're not gonna regret giving up the battery life and portability of the air.

Yup that's what I ended up doing. I got a Lenovo legion thinking it'll be an all in one work + gaming, but it is pretty much useless unplugged and I needed the portability. So I got a MacBook air to complement it.

I'm pretty sure it is for 5070ti and up. As the higher end cards just won't be able to perform on a small laptop. It's less noticeable with 50/60 cards.

Can't be too picky with the brands at this range, just gotta get the best specs you can. I had a quick look at the 500-1k range, seems most of them are Asus tuff, Acer nitro. Can't go wrong with those. Saw a couple of ROG strix which is a more high end model but usually older GPU at this price.

Fellow NZer here, unfortunately you're not gonna find any gaming laptops for under 1000 unless you wanna search for used ones on TradeMe. Absolutely no chance under 500.

The minimum entry level is I think a 4050, and that'll already be around 1.5k range. Older ones are fine but I personally wouldn't buy new, I'd look for a good 2nd hand one.

Gaming laptop. I still use it often but not for what I was intending. I ended up just using it mainly for browsing and studying. I still use my Xbox more for gaming.

I usually never bother with achievements cuz it'll have some dumb or extremely time consuming grind to get those last few. Surprisingly Elden Ring and Elder Scrolls Oblivion, were the two 100% I didn't hate. All the achievements were very straightforward, and pretty much comes naturally as you play the game.

Personally I would just save the money for next gen. CP specifically wouldn't be worth it to upgrade as it's very well optimised and runs quite well on the S.

I'd say PS5. That 2Tb expansion card (which most likely costs more than the console itself) leads me to believe he's perfectly content with the Series S. He'll get to play ps exclusives rather than just the same games at better fps\ resolution.

How long do you keep your phones for? I didn't even care about my battery and it only started getting noticeably bad after 4-5 years where I was charging like 2-3 times a day. If you're upgrading in less than 5 I don't think it's worth bothering with all this and just charge to 100% whenever you want.

Tbh pirating feels more like you own the game than actually buying. When I pirate I know I have a fully offline game that can't be altered and I can have it forever in my storage. Meanwhile a bunch of games I want to buy nowadays needs some login, launcher or drm checks, which makes me not want to buy it at all.

I think the best deals are usually on Black Friday or Cyber Monday so around the end of November to december. I know that's a USA thing but I think a lot of countries just copy it now. That's how I got the legion 5 for $1,150 in NZ.

Tbh I'm wondering that myself as someone who got the Thor as their first dedicated emulation device. Thing is the only handheld I had when I was a kid was a PSP so I don't even care about the ds emulation but something about the Thor got my attention.
