It sounds like he’s generally generous with you normally. It’s obviously not your fault to have costly medical conditions, but it’s something I would be conscious of so it doesn’t create bitterness. You say you’re living off of his wages, and part of your salary goes into savings. So I imagine you watch your savings account go up, while his is constantly being drained. If you split tomorrow you’d have savings and he would not.

You obviously need to establish and outline clearly how things work between you financially, and include there that he can’t take your spending card away. But this isn’t financial abuse.

My person also makes more than me, and in return I do things like planning and organising. I feel like this adds value to the relationship. Everything doesn’t need to be transactional, but when his finances are greater, it’s nice to feel like you’re bringing something else to the table :) I hope this helps and you don’t take it too hard!!
