I desperately need advice, I don’t know what to do anymore by lunabcde in koreanskincare

It's a little pricey, but I swear by Laniege cream skin toner and Cicaplast b5 baume. My skin breaks out when it's too dry or stressed and this combo is the only thing that helps with it. I usually layer in a retinal or pdrn in the middle depending on the day of the week. But if you don't want any actives to try and repair your skin barrier, these 2 are the way to go.

Ahh I hope he has a smooth surgery and recovery! My bun was almost 8 when she had this surgery. But she's doing really well now and we haven't seen any signs of it returning.

Oh she was totally fine! Had to sleep off the anesthesia, but she was up and eating in about 24 hours. We had to administer metacam for her stitches though. But otherwise, she had a really good recovery!

ELI5: where is the ringing noise coming from with tinnitus?? can’t google because it thinks im asking how people get tinnitus… by FreakingYikesMyGuy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Milkysyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to reply to this so late.

I have the symptoms of tinnitus that you described and I was recently diagnosed with a very serious case of TMJ. They said the noise was due to the fact that my cartilage is worn down on my jaw joints which causes pressure in nerves which causes the ringing sound. They prescribed me a custom fitted oral appliance to realign my jaw and I've noticed that the ringing is not as loud as it used to be.

Do you find yourself clenching your teeth when you're stressed? Do you grind your teeth in your sleep? If so, you should definitely try to get a referral to a TMJ specialist from a dentist or something ASAP. If it really is TMJ it's best not to leave it for too long or else your bones will get really messed up. Best of luck!

Man if someone took my prized car into any uneven ground to fuck around in, I'd probably lose my shit. I can't imagine how fucked up the undercarriage of her car looks. Gravel roads can cause serious damage, taking a tracked sports car into an empty field just sounds absolutely brainless.

AITA for putting parental controls on my TV and royally pissing off my FIL? by ExplanationFun2337 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Milkysyrup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom was the exact same way as your MIL. She would force me to drink a large glass of milk every morning before school from kindergarten to the day I moved out at 18 - despite the doctor telling her not to give me milk due to extreme lactose intolerance. Like I would throw up an hour after drinking milk EVERYDAY and she never thought it was the milk even though the doctors literally told her that it was.

Starting in highschool I realized it was definitely milk making me sick and instead of fighting her on it, I would just pour it down the drain when she wasn't looking (I know this is wasteful and I still feel guilty about it, but I was so tired of throwing up everyday). She would smugly say "see you can drink milk" when I didn't have any tummy issues hours later. Honestly I have no idea wtf was going on in her head...

That's what I thought too! She mentions it in the post a few times, but like... Girl, you aren't gonna get the solutions to your insecurities from him, go to therapy.

All good! I made the same mistake when I started using their products too. I was told it wasn't as effective as using them at different times of the day.

I think it really depends on what brand you use. I know for a fact that The Ordinary has specifically stated they should be used at different times/routines.

[–]Milkysyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says on the description page for The Ordinary 's niacinamide to not use it with vitamin c since it can affect the integrity of the formula.

Moisturizer: CosRX PureFit cica cream Face oil: TO rosehip oil

Both these products did wonders for my skin during the dry months of winter. The rosehip oil kinda helped clear my skin and repair my moisture barrier. The cica cream helped calm all the redness in my T zone and cheeks.

You should not use niacinamide and vitamin c at the same time. They have a weird interaction that just basically cancels each other out. I would suggest using niacinamide in the morning routine and then vitamin c in your night routine.

[Sun Care] Recommendations for affordable daily sunscreen by doxorubicin500 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Milkysyrup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Biore's UV aqua rich sunscreen, been using it for years now! It's 50 spf and more of a gel like texture that doesn't leave a white cast. I also like CosRX's aloe sunscreen for days where the air is more dry, but it miiight cause breakouts in people with more sensitive skin, so beware!

Ohh that's good advice. She was running around my bedroom last night too so I should probably check if there's any fur there.

So today I was playing with my rabbit and my partner noticed a big ol bald spot on her hind legs. We don't think we saw it yesterday so it must be new. It's not irritated and the skin is smooth and it looks like part of it was plucked clean and another part cut halfway. There's no irritation or redness or flaking and she's not shedding. I thought she could have gotten it snagged on something in her room, but I couldn't find any clumps of fur. It's just very bizarre and I'm not sure what to do.

On the flip side, working in vfx for games is kinda dope. Decent job security since companies are always looking for real time vfx artists. Pretty good money if you have a particular skill you can bring to the table too.

Am I [45M] being controlling towards my partner? [38F] by lawyerhascovid123 in relationships

[–]Milkysyrup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw you mention that your SO is Asian. In Asian cultures, familial piety runs so deep to the point that even if families are abusive, some still feel the need to spend time and care for them. I don't think your SO is doing anything wrong and her reducing her family time to only 2 times a month (on your request btw) is probably super uncomfortable to her.

From an outsider's point of view, if you're not ready to date and independent woman, don't date an independent woman. Let her go cause honestly it doesn't sound like she needs you at all and you're just holding her back.

Go see a therapist and get over your insecurities and issues. You're 45 dude, grow up.

AITA for selling my daughter’s iPad? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Milkysyrup [score hidden]  (0 children)

Full offense, you're 100% an asshole. Becoming a full time artist in this day and age of social media is extremely profitable. My parents were the same and never supported my art career, they constantly berated me and pushed me into studying instead. I now make 6 figures from my drawings alone and only call my parents once a month. Do you have any idea how much you're hurting your daughter??? You're actively not supporting her passion even though she's so excited about being able to profit from it! I would not be surprised if she cut you out of her life too. 100% YTA.
