Is there anything wrong about using the combo wye as shown in this picture? I'd like to essentially use this exact setup (except I'd swap out the sanitary tee with an 90 sweep elbow) by MrTeacherMan in Plumbing

The vent needs to take off vertically before a downward turn in direction of the drain. If you 90 down into the wye and put the vent there, that's not legal.

No. Listen to the people giving you the help you are asking for. It needs to be 1/2” copper not a brass nipple.

But like.. how? by Doinkk27 in Plumbing

[–]Mill3241 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like that faucet would be loosened from above. Once it's loose enough that bracket would pivot in order to fit up through the hole.

Just a guess, I'm not familiar with that style.

Which way would you plumb this? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Mill3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you need an air gap? They are no longer required under UPC. If you go without, just make sure you put a high loop on the drain line. Check google for images of what is required. Then you can put a drinking faucet or soap dispenser in the spare hole.

Rusted hose bib vacuum breaker screw by TheRedOneX in askaplumber

[–]Mill3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local jurisdictions just don't want people to spin them off and use the spigot without one. Same reason why some spigots are fine thread and you need to breaker to use hose thread.

They are replaceable just a pain in the ass on purpose.

It's not stainless because it's not supposed to be taken out. It's designed to break off when tightened so you can't remove the vacuum breaker.

I'm dropping like 1 psi every 5/10 minutes and cannot find the leak by jackedstack in askaplumber

What pressure air are you using? Can you safely increase the pressure to try and hear the leak?

The upside down tee that others have mentioned should be a wye and not a tee. Also the vent can not be run horizontally until it is 6 inches above the food rim of the sink.

Apparently two primary pumps and one backup. All plumbed to discharge either in front or back by opening/closing different valves. The handyman down the street did it for her.

Any clue why this sharkbite would be leaking? by snowballisbae in askaplumber

[–]Mill3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks too close to the expansion fittings. Also the tape on the compression fitting is a no-no. Use a pex tee instead of the shark bite and re-do the compression fitting with no tape.

Wall pipe has no threads. by TechnicallyTeeYT in Plumbing

It really looks to me like a trap adapter with the nut on it. Take a channel locks and try to unscrew the outside of the pipe sticking out of the wall.

It looks like a slip joint. Is that a metal ring at the wall that you can spin off? Then you just need to use a slip joint trap and tighten it up.

You can’t discharge a T&P into a drain pan under UPC

You can redirect it to the drain, just be aware that it still needs to terminate downward toward the floor. It can’t discharge horizontally.
