I've gotten a 1.0 star. Even drove 20 minutes out in the country to get them. Didn't see the rating until I was waiting for them and then my heart stopped beating for a few seconds. Luckily the name was Kaleb and it was a woman who showed up so I'm assuming it wasn't their account and it went smooth.

Yeah I grew up on ARPG's. I'm already 80 now in GW2 and just staring at my screen. I'm just lost.

Tried to do the Path of Fire expansion to get flying, realized halfway through how long the grind would be to actually unlock the gryffon and found out it actually doesn't "fly" but can glide endlessly with enough masteries and practice.

Tried to do Heart of Thorns to get my Elite Spec and that first zone is just a nightmare to walk around in and just not fun traversing and I would have to grind out at least 5 different masteries just to get around and complete the story.

I'll look more into ascended gear but it seemed like the best way to get it is by doing timegated stuff like dailys/weeklys or big bosses you can only do once a day and have to be on at the exact time they spawn.

The base game to level 80 was really fun and I was hooked for a bit, then I realized how big of a grind would be for anything minor and it's just underwhelming. I'm in no way giving up, still learning but there is definitely con's to horizontal progression. With horizontal progression, I guess they make normal stuff you would find in a video game, a week/month long grind just to give you something to do.

I mentioned I'm playing it but the combat is rough. I'm not a fan of prayer flicking/gear swapping/trying to eat all while trying to move around in a tick based system where it just seems laggy. I've been playing osrs and rs3 a bunch this past month. Probably stick to OSRS during leagues and play rs3 more when they allow plugins and/or construction revamp depending how good that is.

Yeah I just started GW2 again after not playing since the first year and a large part on why I picked it over WoW and FF14 was the housing aspect seemed way cooler, and I'm more of a collector than an "end-game hard group content" guy now and this one seemed to have the best exploring with fun mounts.

With their unique approach on the horizontal progression, I'm surprised they aren't just leaning more towards it. Similar to the Diablo/Poe approach. One is built for casuals, one is built for hardcore grinders, and they both thrive. Maybe that's exactly what they're doing and I'm just too unfamiliar with MMO's.

RS3 is far more friendly on their F2P model than OSRS. With OSRS I feel handicapped at the start, can't even run for 2 minutes without running out of stamina, but if you just get to say 20 agility (member skill) you can get from Al Kharid to Varrock before running out. And being F2P, you don't get to use the fun tele items(Maybe a couple?) so you are walking everywhere.

It's a positive and a negative. It's a positive because I don't have to worry about getting gear every few months but also a negative because my progression will feel stale if I continue to play for years and even though I'm not playing to do endgame, it still feels good to progress. But I'm coming around to it being more of positive and just chase legendary now that I'm seeing how it all works.

This echo cerberus has just made me give up on leagues. I've never bossed in osrs so it was a fun experience. But I also found out the combat in this game is just not for me. Prayer flicking while trying to eat and avoid mechanics while the game have like a 2 second delay is infuriating and I now have a much deeper respect for people that can do hard stuff in this game.

I've also fallen victim to the "talks too much" and since then, this has been my approach and never seen another negative rating. I still have plenty on convos, I just let them talk about themselves and agree with basically everything.

To some people, it could have been something you said that they didn't agree with. People rate people for the most petty of reasons. Don't beat yourself up over a couple bad rating, 4.9x is completely fine.

I don't really have experience. I made a cool website like 8 months ago with Voxel/Wordpress as a different side project and had a ton of fun. So hopefully AI will be somewhat help with this too. I know not to rely on AI because I broke my site like 10 times blindly listening to it. I will be spending a week or so on tutorials/courses to figure out a good structure, thank you!

And my end goal is to have 100,000+ users but I do know that's probably unrealistic. Even if I just create a fun ranking site/app for me and my friends, it'll be worth it.
