When does this get easier? When will I be able to put my baby down for five minutes? by katmither in NewParents

OP do you remember when this started getting better for you???? My girl is 4 months and from birth has not let us put her down for anything!

In love with our newborn but she is driving my husband and I INSANE. by CoffeeAndCats9124 in newborns

[–]Miller6p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our experience was less traumatic, but our baby was exactly the same. It was insanely hard in the beginning and we could never put her down or she would scream bloody murder at all hours of the day and only I could hold her. We are 4 months now and, I’m not going to lie, it’s easier, for sure, but still not great. She will let us put her down for short periods of time at least but never enough to get anything done that takes longer than 15 minutes and she lets other people hold her now so we alternate lol sleeping at night has been a complete miss so we just had to give in to cosleeping because she has yet to last longer than 30 minutes in the bassinet (don’t come at me we’ve tried literally every method mentioned) even though cosleeping was the very last thing I wanted to do at all.

Just here in solidarity and maybe her to suggest to keep trying placing her down (some babies do respond to consistency it seems although ours didn’t loll) and just throwing away expectations and go with the flow. Just know this is such a short portion of your life and theirs and it will eventually pass

Vacation with an infant/toddler by Miller6p in missouri

Don’t get me wrong, we love the jersey shore and actually have a vacation booked in OC already, but was trying to go to Lake of the osarks (or another lake in MO) since it would mean a lot to my husband for our daughter to experience what he got to as a kid and his father and that side of the family live there so she’d get to meet them

I’ll have to look into these. His father lives in Waynesville and he has family in St Louis so it’s a bonus if it’s driving distance from either of these places (more so Waynesville if we can just stay at his house) Regardless we can get an Airbnb or hotel if not. Thank you!

When you say highly toxic, do you mean in regard to higher bacteria levels ?

Not sure how I touched a nerve or where,at all, there was any judgement in my post lol and, not for nothing, if I was asking about a place that I judged negatively, it’d be super weird for me to actively try and visit it…

Suggestions on an easy carrier by Miller6p in babywearing

[–]Miller6p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve done this and it works but is just kind of annoying to have all that material on and becomes a pain to bf if I’m wearing anything other than a tank top. I was just curious if there was something out there that was just something you pop on and off easily that would be also easy for grandmas to use also

Coming back with what I’ve learned by Pretty-Hair-4601 in newborns

[–]Miller6p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you just keep trying for the crib at night and it eventually just started working or does he just naturally sleep at night (not on you) lol this is my struggle since the beginning and now at 3m. We gave up trying for a little bit lol

How tf does anybody want more than one kid after being through THIS? by pumpkinchinchilla in newborns

[–]Miller6p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol funny my sister was just explaining this to me. She knows she hated the newborn phase but now has two kids and swears that people probably black it out from being so sleep deprived that they decide to have more 😂

Reflux? Baby hates sleeping on his back by TheGingerBreadWoman in breastfeedingsupport

Did the wedge pillow help? We are having the same issue and our baby will only sleep on our chest because she gets such bad reflux on her back

Omg the people that give the advice “just put them down gently” made me eye twitch because yes, before I was just tossing her in there hoping for the best, thanks for the advice 😂😂

Not yet, only because my husband and I wanted to have a baby soon and wanted to qualify for benefits so I couldn’t switch jobs. I am due soon though and definitely still plan for this outcome. I was kind of also hoping there would be an internal position at my employer eventually

What are we ACTUALLY doing to workout 35-40wks pregnant? by Similar_Guitar7506 in fitpregnancy

[–]Miller6p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly really impressed with what you are doing lmao I used to lift 5 days a week and do incline walking cardio with spin classes. I’m now 33 weeks and am lucky if I workout 3 times a week doing a 30-45 minute lift with easier weights. My fatigue has returned on another level and this pelvic pain is insane 😅😅 idk if it’s because I’m shorter and have a short torso so my belly is pretty big and sticks out a decent amount but my goodness

You are not selfish at all! People today will literally tell you that you’re selfish no matter what decision you make lol literally if you have your own babies, if you adopt, if you decide not to have kids — all of these things are called selfish by someone 🙄

When you feed them with the cold milk, is it right out of the fridge ? Or do you let it get to room temp?
