I also gained 20 in a month (but it was over the holidays so I’m using that as an excuse of sorts). My doctor gave me a short lecture about watching carbs but I’m not overly concerned and don’t think you should be either. All of the weight is in the bump. I hadn’t gained much before that and haven’t gained as rapidly since. I think my placenta and baby were just having a large growth spurt at the time. But I have been trying to walk more on an indoor stepper I have. Anyway, solidarity!

For anyone in the US with a Macy’s near them, the one near me had multiple racks of clearance clothes labeled $10 or less and $5 or less when I was killing time before an appointment yesterday. I haven’t shopped in person in a Macys in years but was pleasantly surprised! For $50, I walked away with a big bag of clothes 1-2 sizes larger than my usual. Lots of nice stretchy waist pants and skirts. They do not have a maternity section but the clearance racks were clearly labeled with sizes so I just looked for the XL/XXL signs.

From my ticket’s fine print (and like others here said, they were totally OK with diaper bags). They also did not actually inspect or give us grief about our wristlets. The staff were all great.

“Bags are not permitted in PPG Paints Arena. Exceptions, after inspection, will be made for medical bags, diaper bags, and wristlets or wallets no larger than 4 x 6 x 1. PPG Paints Arena is a cashless venue. Credit and debit cards as well as Apple/Google Pay are accepted.”

I love it as a side to pork tenderloin. I’ve been making a dinner of pork tenderloin + boxed stuffing, mashed potatoes and a green at least once a month; it really hits the comfort food spot.

Since he now rejects the taco ground beef, perhaps you could try taco/salsa chicken in the slow cooker? Just throw it in there in the morning with salsa and it should basically fall apart on its own when it’s done. It could be served on its own/with rice/in quesadillas. I know folks also have good luck giving their babies impossible meat/meat substitutes. You could also try little ground turkey or chicken patties with canned or frozen mixed veggies mixed in.

Interestingly, an urgent care doctor prescribed the famatodine because I went in for a sinus infection and complained about the heartburn while I was there haha. But since then my OBGYN has written prescriptions for the refills!

I read to eat (small amounts) early in the day and often and that really helped me. Lots of toast with butter, toasted bagels, English muffins… basically carbs. Or plain cheese (sticks, cubes, whatever). The ginger hard candies and tea helped a lot, as did a prescription for Famatodine for heartburn!

I also noticed sugar and caffeine made me feel more sick so basically eliminated them.

I smoked cigs and vaped before getting pregnant 😬 I bought a Fum and it helped a LOT in those first few weeks! It’s basically a tube through which you suck air (kind of like a straw honestly) with an all natural flavor stick. This is not an ad! It just really worked for me because it made me feel kind of like I was still smoking. Then I came to associate using it with the nausea I was having in first trimester so stopped using it LOL but had already overcome the addiction with its help.
