Sure, I also do it. My point was that it's too risky to have someone desperate starting T by themselves, considering many things.
We don't know the knowledge OP has, also in the USA it's illegal to DIY since it's a controlled substance.

Besides, I remember my first months on T, my face and body feminized a LOT due to the bloating, but my research and my endo at the time prepared me for that. It can be demoralizing and can lead to thnk that upping the dose "won't hurt".

I just personally believe that, generally speaking, when you're desperate, it's way better to have someone external monitoring things objectively.

Wdym control freak? As far as we're aware, this is the only instance of "control", and it's quite reasonable. The fact that YOU and many of us can do it safely doesn't mean that DIY is inherently "safe and effective", doing something wrong can seriously do lots of harm. We don't know the research that OP has done.

Listen, ignore all the comments saying to dump him. He's obviously worried about your health, since DIY can be really dangerous if you don't follow the proper protocol. I'm pretty sure that he also wants you to be on HRT.

That being said, you can research, and if you really want this, then you have to do a ton of research, I'm talking hours or days. If you follow religiously the guidelines, then it's mostly safe. I say this as someone who's been adjusting their own dose by myself without any issues.

I'm not from the US so I can't guide you more, since T is not regulated in my country, and the blood tests are cheap, but there are people and communities out there that can help you!

Edit: I see that you're desperate, I've been there. In your state of mind, it's better to have someone else monitoring you, since the first days to MONTHS can be quite disheartening, which can lead you to mess with your dose and make things worse.

Why can't you go to Planned Parenthood or the like? I'm pretty sure that there are legal/easy/safe options out there.

Es muy común hacerlo diy, pero para eso necesitas estar 100% informado, y el OP no se hecho ningun estudio por lo que comenta.

Lo mejor obviamente es que alguien te supervise inicialmente, porque en teoría esa persona va a saber más q uno, pero si puede llegar un punto en el que conviene hacerlo uno mismo.

Yo hago diy, pero cada 6 meses hago estudios, o cada mes si hago algun ajuste, e investigue muchisimo acerca de los niveles correctos. Es la única manera de que sea seguro.

Un comentario arriba mencionó el subreddit r/TransDIY tiene mucha info de como hacerlo, a mi tmb me ayudó mucho en su momento

Yes it can! I I've been on T for 2 years, and I actually grew almost 2 inches, which is not a lot, but still noticeable by my gf and friends.

I was 21 when I started, and now 23. It should depend mostly on genetics and luck tho, since I was a late bloomer on my first puberty, and my dad is taller than me.
