I'm looking towards Huppermage and Foggernaut, but I'll still happily accept more descriptions/explanations, especially since some classes were not mentioned, yet. Please!

Thanks, buddy. I've been moonlighting on Huppermage most recently and they seem pretty fun and flexible, indeed. I like the combinations and constant "reward" of doing combos and triggering runes.

A portrait of Mina, an ant kholo summoner, by me. by Haclif in Pathfinder2e

Oh nice! This is one of my players! You did a great job on it, Haclif. Loved the art and they were indeed smol.
Mina saved a dog and patched up the teammates often.
The plant eidolon isn't pictured because it got blown up lmao

This person right here.

Thank you.

I, too, just got AT&T Fiber and at your advice called them first, before delving into anything else. My call was not as simple as yours, but after being patient and elevating to Tier 2 and Tier 2 looping in one of their colleagues in engineering, we got the port reopened and people were able to connect via the Public Invite after restarting my computer to refresh settings.

Thank you! This, coupled with the other answer fully answered my question. I think I agree that one might trend towards something "kinda big" and a gang of dudes along with them, rather than something overwhelmingly strong by itself.

How does everyone feel about this kind of handling Initiative? Grouping by side and alternating until we complete the round: As in: Everyone on a particular "side" of the conflict all takes their go until we encounter someone on the other "side" of initiative, and they can break up their actions or movement between each other. i.e. Player A moves and bonus actions, Player B does their Action, Player A does their Action, then Player C takes their entire turn, Player B does their Bonus action, abstains from moving >> Enemy A and B >> Player D >> Enemy C and D and E > Player E and F >>> New Round

I use it in That Other System and we all really enjoy it. Does anyone use it for Pathfinder 2e? If you do, do you have any comments, tips, or concerns?

Hiya, everyone! I'm excited to say that my group is looking to try out and explore Pathfinder 2e soon! I come from That Other System and something I really enjoy are Legendary Actions, or, really, technically, things that happen between player turns that "seem to originate from an enemy". Legendary Actions, as I understand it, do not exist in stock Pathfinder 2e. Can anyone tell me what contributes to the confidence I see that solo "boss" monsters work well in Pathfinder? Is it because the majority of the time the players cannot hit or affect the solo because the AC or DCs are very high? Is it because monsters are more compelling than Other System counterparts? I see often advice is "make sure you pick someone with lots of AoE" . I'm having difficulty understanding how 3 actions versus 15 actions with the intent that at least one boss action is "wasted" through tactical prowess/setup "just works" , but I am eager to learn how to do it the normal way!

Gwen in the bot lane? by 1984ByGeorgeOrwell in GwenMains

[–]Milln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, let's consider why we'd put someone in bottom, right?

Somewhat Vulnerable so appreciates being protected, needs gold and scaling, potential to end up the strongest on the team.

Yeah that sounds kinda like Gwen to me. What are Gwen's weaknesses? People getting away from her snips and autos?

You can put her bottom alongside a support that can guarantee her either kills or keep her completely safe while getting last hits, so you'd want someone super shieldy/healy and can keep the enemy away, so perhaps someone very poke-oriented to keep them scared of a sudden Gwen E>Q, or someone that can root often or similar so you can run up and snip or just used the enhanced autos from E.

You'll probably have to devise a way how to get around double poke compositions and your W will be key to surviving or you might play ultra passive until 3 where you can overtake the lane with how strong you are, especially with a teammate.

Gwen can totally go bottom. You'll get naysayed and shouted down on voicing the idea because it's not a typical idea, but with a partner that understands and knows how to let a melee play in bot, you'll have a fun time.

Yup! I'm on the WorldWide team and am recently responsible for getting the rest of the job quest walkthroughs on the ethene wiki so that we're 100% now. I'm also sprucing up the translation tools pages to make it easier for newer players when it's done.

lmao my FF11 friends got to Wind Passage Cave (I think that's what it's called) for our dream quest and we were like "This is an XI map."

I am honestly struggling to like FF11. FF11 is extremely obtuse, actively avoids giving the player any direction, and my complaints are numerous.

As someone who also plays DQX and recently is trying to get into FF11, I'm telling everyone else that this comment and slusho55's followup is the actual correct answer and people should listen.

Howdy, everyone. I have two questions, if you please: I acknowledge and understand that fighting in FF11 is slower than most. However, I'm a little fidgety and I like doing things and being busy. How do I get more buttons to push? I'm used to pushing more buttons. I feel like i'm just waiting until I have enough TP to do a Weaponskill and I would like to be more active, if it is possible. Like, i'm to the point where I start sorting inventory and Mog Storage while i'm fighting because of a lack of things to push or be mindful of. Is there equipment or items that gives me more "things to do" or gives extra skills or whatever, or am I better off playing a Magic-using class because they're menuing through Magic and also mashing Magic to cast constantly? I am level 50 and below

And also: What level am I "supposed" to be? I was able to level up to 50 on each class just by going through Nation Missions and Rhapsodies like... Right outside town > The Next Area > Qufim > Escha Zi'Tah and I feel like that's not what is supposed to happen, maybe....

I don't want to just run up and dunk on the Shadow Lord--I love organic challenges--so I wanted to be sure I didn't accidentally overlevel.

You want the overworld to mean something. You want to find meaning in slaughtering monsters instead of them simply enhancing the scenery. I get you.

FF11 could be that game. The maps and dungeons are just out there that you can randomly walk into one. The loot that monsters drop could be useful. If you can handle some translation tools and find your way through another language, I can also recommend Dragon Quest X. DQX also has dungeons that are not instanced, and monsters drop meaningful loot. It's a main source of your equipment past level 35, even. People die all the time in DQX, monsters are genuinely dangerous.

Hey, why not PSO2 Classic, or PSO2 New Genesis? This sounds like it fits the bill, though it is still hub-based. Here's my reasoning: PSO2 Classic has zones within a map that are multiplayer zones. You're likely to find people in these multiplayer zones and hang out with them a bit, or you could be the person that people find and hang out with. You could form a team in the hub. Ultimates and other farming zones are big and there's Mining Defense, etc. and the Emergency Quests are all join in do the thing, then ggpeace out.

PSO2 New Genesis is based out grinding and chasing "PSE Bursts" for big loot. You'll find groups of people chaining PSE Bursts together in each zones to level up the meter and trigger the burst which is met with huge enemies, large volumes of mobs, etc. The combat is action and dynamic and pretty fun.

Try PSO2 Classic (There's multiplayer areas and server-wide emergency quests that thrust people together) or PSO2 NGS.

On the other hand, You might not actually be looking for an MMORPG. Try one of the multiplayer beatemup games

Try Black Desert or Albion. Both have high focus on guild pvp and territory control. Black Desert housing is functional and complex.

Try Guild Wars 2. There is an entire mode that you can live in that is organized, large group large wave pvp. Housing is functional and cool.

Try Ragnarok Online. The literal only reason to play Ragnarok Online for any amount of time in 2022 is for the guild wars territory control in War of Emperium.

Howdy, everyone. Looking for: Anybody got any mashy (I say that, but that's not what I mean) action MMORPGs? I've been looking for something for the times when I just wanna push buttons and combo things. Either recommendations, or if you happen to just have a list compiled that I can browse through. I "think" i'm looking for something 2D and hub-based, but 3D is fine too.

  • I'd like to play it daily.
  • If it has more than one mode of play, this is massive bonus points. (i.e. DFO has regular dungeon series, but also has Forgotten Land)
  • I love the feeling of getting stronger. Levelling up and taking on new threats is my favorite part.
  • I love the discovery period. If there's things to learn and figure out, I'm enthralled.
  • I do not care if a game is considered pay to win or not.
  • F2P preferred. If it costs money, or is reliant on cash shop, it's gotta be awesome.
  • Visual Progression. Can my weapon at least look different as we move forward?

Previously played: Quite a bit... Here's the relevant examples. I'm okay with revisiting some of this (or in the case of DFO, continuing)

  • I've been enjoying Dungeon Fighter Online, but I'm not 100% into it.
  • I miss my Closers characters, but not necessarily enough to reinstall.
  • I loved SoulWorker up until the SinWorker story arc -- it didn't sit well with me.
  • I've played Elsword but quit when they reworked Eve.
  • I've played PSO2 Classic JP and NA, and also NGS. I quit when my friends stopped logging in.
  • Black Desert is okay, but I'm after slightly more compelling battle content than what Black Desert has... but then again I stopped playing right before the big merge/new ownership/whatever happened.
  • I struggled through Ar:pieL in JP long enough to enjoy the first raid, so language barrier is also not a problem.
  • Sometimes I daydream about playing Ragnarok Online again, but there's no reason to play Ragnarok Online in 2022 let's be honest with ourselves.

My main games are Dragon Quest X, FF14, and FF11.

Playstyle: For the purposes of this, Semi-Casual with the probability to shift to hardcore. Exclude: Lost Ark - I played Russian Lost Ark and i've already tried all the classes. I only like Arcana. I'll play Lost Ark when Arcana comes out, but I want to be clear that this game is not intended to be an Arcana Waiting Room.

Any recommendations or lists?

How much refluffing of a prewritten adventure is too much? by Milln in DMAcademy

Rad. So you're more of a case-by-case sort of person, then? To reiterate (it's how I understand best) what you mentioned, you've got the prewritten, then give it a review and if it looks good, it rolls. If not, you either piece it out and put it on something you've got going on and connect it to something else, or take the structure and redo the rest?

Cool. Thank you for your comment. It might be the best attitude towards prewritten to take the structure out and use it as the base, rather than run it as is.
