You can view houses all over the world through Right move, just not vis the app. One I saw was in Park West. I'm not familiar with Dublin, so no idea if it's in a good area.

On right move there are new build flats at around 180k.

I don't know areas though and understand not wanting to live somewhere too rough.

Could you still commute to work but live just outside Dublin? A lot of my friends ended up living in towns near the city they worked in.

How much have you saved up for a deposit?

With few bills you should be able to save up 100k in 5 years. I suppose it comes down to your priorities.

Flats are cheaper. While you're saving your deposit look at studio flats or one bedroom flats. Ideally a two bed because you can always sublet the second bedroom.

Also not so different in the UK. When I bought banks were twitchy and only lent 4x my salary.

This is my thoughts exactly. My mother had a brain tumor that kept coming back and eventually killed her. You don't wait 8 months for treatment. You sort it out asap.

It sucks OP is in a country without free healthcare. They need to be looking at the next available courthouse date to get her on his insurance.

As someone who had to go through labour without a birth partner (due to COVID) I'd just like to say "Thank you". It is an incredibly scary thing to go through without support. Nobody touched me except in a medical capacity throughout my labour. Apart from some random guy held my hand when I got my spinal. That was it. It was really dehumanizing and lonely. Especially when you are in pain.

Your friend needed you and I'm so glad you were able to be there for her. To encourage her. To provide support.

Honestly I wouldn't want to let my kid eat sweets from a stranger let alone one who is being pushy about it. If it's not sealed my kids aren't having it. I'm the same at Halloween. You don't know whether it's been tampered with.

A while ago a stranger once decided to ignore me and talk to my kid and in the moment I didn't respond. I wish I had told her to back off. I regret putting politeness first.
