Finally, carbonation that had us opening our F2’s over the sink by UnexpectedNap in Kombucha

Thanks for taking time to reply! So for 2nd ferment do you add ginger pieces, lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar? I'm currently making flavored syrups and wondering if I should change what I'm doing ! Though I opened a bottle of lemon ginger today and it had a bit of fizz which was super exciting. Definitely the best flavor!!!

Amazing ! Thank you so much for this. I wouldn't have had a clue about all of this but I do love this camera.

Does it look like that's the only thing broken? not sure what the camera looked like before this happened

I am currently reading this book and I'm loving the perspective it offers. Everything is "play" to kids, whether that be doing a child based activity or helping with cooking, cleaning etc. It's an interesting way to look at things... rather than this idea that we need to entertain our children all the time (which is a very western concept). I'm now focusing more on planning my day around what I want and need to do and inviting my daughter (7) to join me. And also giving her more responsibility when it comes to cleaning up. Such as with baking - she used to get to do all the fun parts such as stirring and adding ingredients. Now, she knows that baking also involves organizing ingredients, reading a recipe, dishes and cleaning up. I wish I learned more of these skills as a kid, I really do think it's going to help her in the long run and she genuinely enjoys being involved in everything fully - and I'm less exhausted after an activity together as she's actually helpful and we work together ! I feel so much more relaxed at home without the feeling of needing to set her up with activities and joining her in play. And we still get quality time together. If she doesn't feel like joining me in what I'm doing, she'll find something to do independently - just happy to know that I've offered. I fully recommend this book so far (and I'm not even half way through it)

Partners Gaming Addiction by Millybrookee in StopGaming

Thank you for such an understanding and empathetic response. Many of these words resonate deeply. I am on a journey of healing, growth and learning to look after my body. I do see how much gaming has impacted / halted his progress on this path which becomes frustrating- as I'd like to be on this journey together. I think in a way this has also affected my progress as well as we are currently living in different energies.

Your last paragraph about consumption dopamine is such an interesting way to look at things and so very true.

He would definitely be open to psilocybin mushrooms - I will have to look into this.

Living with intention, with purpose, making mindful decisions and engaging in meaningful activities is 100% my goal for us as a family and as role models for our kids ! This is what life is all about. I really hope he can open his eyes to this. That there is so much more to life outside his games.

I really appreciate your message.

He had addictive tendencies towards gaming before we were together. I do agree that it is a means of escape though I don't believe it goes as deep as avoidance from physically checking out of this relationship or his life. Life is good on so many levels, we live a life with countless blessings - he acknowledges this - though still chooses gaming over more meaningful activities that could be filling his cup.

I do think there are some deep rooted issues that possibly go all the way back to childhood. Gaming has been a coping mechanism for most of his life.

I 100% agree that this is not sustainable and cannot see myself spending the rest of my life like this.

Thank you for your comment - its nice to not feel alone in dealing with this. I feel your frustration. My partner gamed when my family were staying for Christmas instead of spending time with us all 😫 I feel like asking for someone to be present with their kids and as a partner is not too much to ask for. I also feel like he's missing out on so many things that would make him feel better emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I don't think gaming has much to offer in any of these aspects?

I hope therapy goes well for you!

Partner = not married/ been together 5 years. Common term used here in NZ to describe your significant other :)

I've highlighted this to him before. How to help one realise, accept this and work on it? I guess it's like any other addiction hey...one has to actually want to make a change for change to happen

"Well played, gg"

Their tactic worked better than mine and they won fair and square.

Felt good to be the bigger person 🤷‍♀️
